Winona Ryder….classic beauty with a tad of bad ass.
Eli’s daughter reminded me, vocally, of Debi Mazar (sp?), so that’s my vote. Mazar could take on Eli any day.
I would LOVE to see Captain Hammer on the Good Wife!
I think an older actress, but not as old as Eli, with a Jewish background would be perfect as the mother of Eli’s daughter. Might I suggest:

Amanda Peet
Selma Blair
Paula Abdul
Roseann Barr
or Fran Drescher
I think that each one of them would be wonderful and bring something unique to the role!
Eli’s ex? ANY former ADA from any of the Law & Order series. Eli’s ex should be a witchy woman with the perfect job, the perfect hair cut and perfect nails, and obviously prefers living in NYC. She is the type who thinks living anywhere else is like being in Siberia.
I can see Megan Mullally in this role – she’d be perfect with Alan.
