'The Office' proposal: How does it measure up?

I know there’s a “That’s what he said” joke in that headline, and I’m pretty sure it was my subconscious that did that. Read the full post.

I loved it, Michael was adorable and sincere. Having the whole office participate was great because they are his family.

All I could think, though, was…do you know how much all those candles would cost? Candles are very expensive.

    They looked beautiful though.

I laughed, I cried…then I cried some more! I started blubbering from the point when he led her to his office..and then smiled through my tears when he opened the door to the hallway…so much like him to involve everyone. Loved Pam’s smile when Jim admitted he was scared when he proposed to her…sweet! But…where was Erin? Was she even there? I want to see her reaction to Michael’s news and imminent departure…she regards him as a father figure. Interesting! All in all…a GREAT episode!!

Especially after some of the past episodes, this one was fantastic. I was touched by Michael’s proposal. I have no idea what I was expecting, but that certainly wasn’t it. It was romantic but still very Michael-ish. In short, I think it was pretty much perfect for Michael and Holly, besides maybe the thing with the random proposals from other office workers, which I didn’t quite get. I haven’t seen enough TV proposals to rank it, but I think it’s about even with Jim’s proposal to Pam, which I loved for its spontaneity and simplicity. In the end, this episode just reminded me why I’d liked The Office so much in the first place. I’m going to be so sad when Michael and Holly leave.

Technically it was “Your wife becoming BE will I” but whatever. I cried and could not stop shaking for at least an hour. Then over the last few days I have rewatched it no less than 100 times. And cried every time. EPIC!!!!!!
I am glad the writers gave Michael a chance to be romantic and not just funny (although with the Yoda and the sprinklers, there was still plenty of funny). They truly are soupsnakes! Off to watch it again…

This was the most lovely proposal on tv I’ve ever seen! It had all the sweetness and humor of Michael’s character, and they hit all the marks just right. It will go down as one of those forever-loved classic tv moments. Bravo!!!!

I LOVED IT! The only thing I hate is that now that Michael Scott has found love he is leaving the show! I wish we could spend more time with Michael & Holly, but such is life… Here’s to hoping they will guest star on day on future episodes w/ their first child in hand!

The actress who plays Holly was perfect in her reaction and facial expressions. She deserves an Emmy. Steve was good but she was better.

I thought the proposal was really stupid, but that’s my personal taste. I hate when people make a big scene to propose. I SO much rather it be spontaneous and simple. Nothing else is necessary. If I was Holly I would be finding it really hard not to raise my eyebrows at the stupidity of it all.

Also the “will you marry me” from the employees. What the F was that??

the candels and the other people prposing was to show the comitment between them

I loved this too. Loved it! In fact, I crawled over and sat with my husband and squeezed him tighter. Lovely.

And yes, Monica and Chandler was another wonderful proposal and I think you forgot Derek and Meredith from Grey’s on that list! That was a good one too!
