I thought it was incredibly poorly executed.

The name of the show was called big love for a reason. Bill’s wives were forged out of their love for bill and their family. They didn’t need to find out who they were without bill. Their love for each other is what made the show great. For example barb didn’t go through with her baptism without her family being there because at the moment she was finally going to be baptized she didn’t do it because her family wasn’t there to give her support. She realized who she was in that split second. The serious couldn’t end without bill dying a martyr and the family holding together because of their love. Bravo to the writers and cast for this special series. I’m very sad to see it end so soon.

I loved this show because of the family aspect, showing a different slant on things, and it was entertaining. Crazy times that were so over the top that I laughed out loud. I hated season 5 as it was a battle cry to reach for the razor blade. Very depressing, and it took my energy away while watching it. I think Bill was evolved “within his religion” to have selected 3 very strong women. OMG he handled their daily drama’s and some see Bill’s death as the emancipation of the women. I think it was sad and weak that the woman bonded and broke free over his death. They were always free to do what they wanted and chose to be with Bill or not. Unlike other polygamists, Bill was not going to hunt them down. They tried to make Bill a bit less human the last two seasons, as he became a more desperate man to keep his family together…to prop up this ultimate ending and make this show about the women. I am a woman and it would have been more powerful for the women to have chosen their destiny…to stay or not versus Bill’s death. I for one stopped talking about the show with my friends this season as there wasn’t anything to talk about…unlike Lois and Frank’s fight, the dead frozen body of the prophet, Abby’s stealth affairs with men, the Parrot story line, Anna’s threat to become #4 were all stories of drama with entertainment value. Okay said my peace. Lol

NO!…..Wanted this to end with Bill still alive and triumphant in some kind of way.Not in a cheesy Hollywood ending way, but one that recognised/respected the journey we’d been on with him, as much as the sister wives. I loved the series, found it uneven at times, often getting bogged-down at Juniper Creek, but I really didn’t like the ending. Thought the much maligned Sopranos ending, more satisfying. Maybe it’s an Aussie male perspective thing, but just feel Bill Paxton’s enormously decent, if essentially 19th century character, deserved a whole lot better than THAT feminism skewed ending. It seems that for a lot of fans of BL they don’t get that we can have such affection for the enormously decent/faith journeying authority of the Bill character. I loved the women of the show–maybe Chloe Sevigny will never again be better as an actress–but Mr Paxton was my focus of this brilliant TV series.Thankyou to the show’s creators
