This will mark Armstrong’s third turn as the rocking drug pusher in the play, which is based on his band’s 2004 album of the same name. American Idiot — which experienced a drop in ticket sales after Armstrong departed in late February — will close on April 24.

Too bad it’s closing – it’s an awesome show. And he’s great in it.
I could have sworn the 90s generation ended about 10 years ago. Trippy.
Well they were cool back in oh I don’t know, 1993 I guess?
I’m not surprised it’s closing, but it’ll still be sad to see it go. I’m glad I could see it twice, once being when Billie Joe was there.
I think sucked, and I am not sad to see it go.
How do we get three weeks of performances from April 15-24? That’s nine days, and 12 performances.
April 5th-24th That is 20 days.
When the post was originally published it said April 15. It has since been corrected.
Man I need to get tickets to see this!
Actually he starts April 5, not the 15th. Wanted to see this show – not so sure I can get to NYC before then.
Wow that really sucks; everyone in the show is just so talented too!
I know. What will the music world ever do now once they are gone? Well I guess it’s back to listening to infinity music broadcasting for free since the play this same crap endlessly for hours for free. (sigh)
Bummer. I took my kids to NYC to see this show over the summer. Wish we could have seen it with BJA, but it was still an AMAZING show. I was unsure how I’d like others singing Green Day songs, but it was great. Sad to see it close.
I’ll be there during spring break. Can not wait.
Saw it with Billie on Feb. 26 and met him at our party afterwards (he came with his wife, half the cast of the musical, and his manager). I’m going again to see it on April 24th!
I’m glad that I was able to see the Broadway version after seeing its Berkeley premiere. I really wanted to see BJA in the St. Jimmy Role. It had a good run.
But its TOURING! Just announced its coming to Toronto as part of the DanCap Broadway series!
I was over this band before the 90s even ended.
Well it’s not like they were Nirvana or whatever..
I’m going April 6th and the show is going on tour, not really ending. Green Day rocks!! I’m looking forward to it.
