Got Glue? We do!

Filed under: Books, Gadgets, Music, TV and tagged: , ,

As any reader of this site knows, being fluent in pop culture has its own rewards. But those Type A sorts among you will be excited to hear that Entertainment Weekly has partnered with GetGlue to actually reward you for checking out the recommendations in our weekly Must List.

Never heard of GetGlue? It’s like Foursquare, but instead of earning badges for checking into physical locations like restaurants and bars (and — admit it — your cubicle at work), you earn stickers for checking into movies, TV shows, books, games, magazines, and apps. After you’ve earned a handful of virtual stickers, GetGlue mails you the real thing. You can earn your first sticker for checking into Entertainment Weekly magazine, then work your way through our Must List picks, earning three more stickers (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) the more you check in over subsequent weeks.

Ready to get started? Download the appropriate GetGlue app then download our free Must List app for iPhone or iPad. (Don’t have a smart phone/tablet? That’s okay, you can still play along. You can check out the Must List online and check into our picks on GetGlue’s website.)

too much work…can you just send me free stuff?

    • Winona

Exactly what I was thinking. Last time I collected stickers (real ones, btw) I was in 4th grade.

    • RedFeather

not difficult at all – free things require research and a little effort! earning is fun

      • scarletheels

I agree with Red Feather. Besides, it’s fun. If it’s not your thing, don’t sweat it. Personally, I’m addicted to GetGlue & came to see what was on the EW’s Must List.

    sounds “pretty cool”

    • jasmine

      just downloaded get glue!

  • Entertainment2u-Twitter

all we get is stickers? huh?

    • Sammy

That is weird. Why do I want EW stickers?

      • Nathan

You don’t, and neither do I.

      • claire

you dont just get EW stickers… they are stickers for all sorts of things like bands and movies and tv shows and stuff

  • Lion Blood beats Tiger Blood

    Sounds pathetic.

  • crispy

Max Braverman will be very excited about this.

    • Mr. Holloway

+1 point for the “Parenthood” joke!

I’m thorougly enjoying imagining the meltdown he’d have if he were to get shortchanged on these stickers.

    • Cindy B

Loved your answer, Crispy! (Love Parenthood!)

  • Brad

I used Get Glue several months ago. I got some stickers in the mail. You have to get a certain amount of badges before they will send you the stickers. I just watch too much TV so I eventually starting slacking on checking in. But I might get back into the habit.

  • Adan

I use getglue, but nothing turned up when you search “must list”.

    • Azurite

That’s because you have to check into something that’s ON the Must List, like a TV show, Book, etc.

  • Bobbi

Can’t find your “must list” on getglue. Seems like a waste of time. What do I need stickers for?

  • scotty1701

Seriously? What in the hell am I going to do with EW stickers…I would think that most readers of EW have since outgrown the need to play with stickers….

  • gigi

Are any of the stickers scratch and sniff? I’ll play along if they are scratch and sniff…

  • Juli

    No Must-List app for androids?

  • Mindy

    You get stickers? Really? Stickers??

    Pass.

  • Dave

Stickers? What am I supposed to with with EW Stickers!? What person over the age of 10 cares about stickers?

  • Dionne

I don’t know what is more idiotic: collecting the stickers or the fact that the whole thing is technology driven but then they MAIL you the stickers. For your trapper keeper I guess.

  • Irish

Stickers? Seriously? I don’t think you can count getting a sticker as “earning” something. We joke about giving each other gold stars at work, but we don’t actually give each other stickers. That’s a bit 1st grade…
