No, your eyes do not deceive you: That’s James Bond himself, sporting a long blonde wig and a dress in the image to the left. Daniel Craig is wearing drag (seemingly as Bond) to support international womens’ day in a powerful new advertisement. Craig’s 007 co-star Judi Dench narrates the ad as Bond’s boss M, listing off an array of disturbing statistics — among them, “Women are responsible for two-thirds of the work done worldwide, yet earn only ten percent of the total income and own only one percent of the total property.” It’s a nice tweak on Bond’s rakish image. Check out the video below:

is it wrong to be turned on!
At which point in the video ? :p
Quite a powerful and interesting ad.
Bond doesn’t die, but his female counterparts always do… coincidence?
I like it. Well done.
Now that is how a public service announcement should be done!
if you look really quick it looks like a really tall vera farmiga
How are women 2/3 of the workforce when according to most countries their workforce is greater than 50% male.
Otherwise brilliant ad with a great message.
It doesn’t say women are 2/3 of the “workforce”. It says women do 2/3 of the work. That doesn’t mean they get paid for it, or do it in an official capacity. It also doesn’t mean that every type of job requires the same amount of effort – for instance, there are secretaries and executive assistants who do far more actual work than their bosses. And as women are still more likely to be secretaries than bosses, that’s another way of doing more of the work while getting less money.
Or in some countries “the work” could be farming, collecting, selling etc… in addition to household work.
lol. You’re right, he DOES kind of look like Vera Farmiga. I was trying to think of who he reminded me of.
He looks like the man who dresses up and spoofs Chloe Sevigny.
Looks like Kate Hudson. With Bigger Boobs.
Good message, but come on, neither Connery nor Craig’s Bond (i.e. the Bond Ian Fleming created) would ever agree with men and women being equal.
Perhaps that’s the point, when he walks away wordlessly and M says “Until the answer is ‘yes’, we must keep asking.”
That’s Bond going under cover for his latest assignment.
I like this new direction Sam Mendes seems to be taking.
I had to watch the video again, because the 1st time all I kept focusing on was that his tie is too short (at least IMO it is)
I can’t think of a better way to promote women’s equality than by having Daniel Craig in drag. What’s the point-every man has to walk a mile in a woman’s high heels? It would have been more effective to have Judi Dench on camera narrating instead of turning it into “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. Having said that, Daniel Craig makes a much-better looking woman than Robert DeNiro on “SNL”, and to his credit he didn’y feel the need to sit with his knees spread apart like Russell Brand on “SNL”.
