Adam Sandler on Leno: Lies, darn lies

Adam Sandler was on The Tonight Show last night, joking about his rumored demise, Just Go With It, and the fun of filming in Hawaii. I could almost forgive his signature extreme casual dress, but bunchy white sweat socks?! They make lightweight casual socks, Adam. If you’re going to wear glorified pajamas and slippers on television, at least do it in the comfort of things that fit correctly. READ FULL STORY »

'Chuck': Okay, I'm no longer angry about the first 'proposal'

Chuck-Vs-Push-MixImage Credit: Jordin Althaus/NBCI was angry — nay, livid — a few weeks ago after Chuck’s beautiful balcony proposal to Sarah was interrupted by the CIA, who busted in to arrest his eventual bride-to-be. Last night, in what was once written to be the show’s midseason (if not, series) finale had Chuck not received an order for additional episodes*, they more than made up for it. READ FULL STORY »

Julianna Margulies talks meeting her lawyer husband with Ellen

margulies-ellenImage Credit: Inset: Jeff Vespa/WireImage.comJulianna Margulies won her second consecutive SAG Award for The Good Wife on Sunday night, but at least among the people I was watching the ceremony with on Twitter, her husband, Keith Lieberthal, was the topic of conversation. (Okay, we also talked about how stunning she looks in red, whether wearing a gown or a suit.) As you may recall, Margulies thanked her in-laws for raising her husband in her acceptance speech. On Tuesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, she discusses the reaction to that speech, the random way she met her husband, and why we shouldn’t objectify him. (Note: I made an effort, Julianna, by using the adjective ‘lawyer’ in the headline instead of ‘hot.’) Enjoy the preview below: READ FULL STORY »

'True Grit': 1969 versus 2010

Categories: Movies, Oscars

The Coen brothers keep insisting that their True Grit isn’t really a remake of the 1969 film starring John Wayne, but rather an adaptation of Charles Portis’ novel. So when you see certain scenes from the two films put side-by-side, as they are in this video clip, you can go one of two ways: (1) Of course it’s a remake — the dialog and set-up are practically identical; or (2) Wow, you couldn’t imagine two more divergent schools of artistic filmmaking. 'RuPaul's Drag Race': Is any show on TV more cracked out than this?

Rupaul-Drag-Race-CatsLast night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race launched with the queens doing a mini-challenge centered around ESP, or Extra Sensory Perception, where the ladies paired up and one half of them tried to guess what their partner was sporting, wig-, pussycat- or boa-wise. (As you might guess, none of them were too good in this situation.) But the most hilarious thing about that is that the ESP challenge was the least weird thing about the episode: Before long, during the show’s hour, the ladies were donning wacky, futuristic costumes (see: above!) and, while split into two teams with leaders Mariah and Phoenix, made (ridiculously laughable) “movie trailers” for two fictional films, Drag Queens in Outer Space: From Earth to Uranus and its sequel Drag Queens in Outer Space 2: Return to Uranus.

As Ru told the queens when she was checking in during their prep sessions: “I don’t want to see drag queens—I want to see movie stars!” Just look at that picture above: Is there any show on TV that’s more cracked out than RuPaul’s Drag Race? That’s the question I’m posing to you, the show’s loyal viewers, after the second episode of this third season.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 5

chris-bachelor-padAs much as I would love to begin this week’s blog by talking about the cardigan I wore last week or the driveway being wet, we obviously need to discuss the most talked about controversial moment of the season. Let me first explain how Emily actually ended up on this date. We planned all these trips and dates before Emily was ever cast on this show and we learned of her story. There were only three dates in Vegas, a one-on-one date, a group date, and the two-on-one date. Emily wasn’t getting the one-on-one as she had recently had one and Brad wanted to spend some time with Shawntel. Emily definitely wasn’t going to be put on the two-on-one date for several reasons, one being Brad didn’t want that. So that left one date, and that turned out to be the group date to the NASCAR track. Now with all that said, I’m not telling you at this point that we were completely naïve and didn’t know her story and that we didn’t discuss the situation. What we eventually decided to do is what we always decide to do when faced with situations like this: Don’t mess with the true emotion and situation. You need to remember that Brad who helped us decide who goes on what dates still had no idea the full extent of Emily’s story, and that information couldn’t come from us. READ FULL STORY »
