Larry King on Piers Morgan's CNN show: Not 'dangerous' enough?

larry-king-morganImage Credit: Toby Canham/Getty Images; John Shearer/WireImageLarry King had generally positive statements about Piers Morgan’s first months on air in an interview with London’s Radio 4, but also offered up a piece of advice to the CNN personality: Next time, don’t oversell yourself.

While King admitted that he hadn’t seen much of the show, he was critical of the show’s promotion. “He was going to be dangerous. He was going to be water cooler talk. Wait ’til you see me, I’m different.’ He’s good. He’s not that dangerous,” King said in the interview. “Maybe it’s hard to just step into anything. But if there’s one thing, he may have been oversold.” READ FULL STORY »

Rolling Stone clarifies Justin Bieber abortion quote, rendering a moderate opinion even more moderate

Categories: Justin Bieber

Justin-bieberImage Credit: Mike Marsland/WireImage.comOn Wednesday, Rolling Stone posted an excerpt of their Justin Bieber interview online. The excerpt included a quote from Bieber discussing the fact that he doesn’t believe in abortion. When asked if he believed in terminating pregnancies in cases of rape, the pop star responded, “Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.” Today, Rolling Stone corrected the quote slightly, adding in a sentence: READ FULL STORY »

Denise Richards on 'The View': 'This is Charlie's lifestyle. He makes no bones about it. It is what it is.'

view-denise-richardsImage Credit: Heidi Gutman/ABCDenise Richards was a guest host on The View this morning, so there wasn’t a prayer she would escape un-Sheened. When Barbara Walters broke the ice, asking about the recent difficulties of her ex-husband, Richards admitted that she wasn’t surprised by Charlie Sheen’s troubles, saying, “This is Charlie’s lifestyle. He makes no bones about it. It is what it is.” When she declined to speculate on the root cause of Sheen’s issues — suggesting politely that the ladies invite him to their show and ask him themselves — Walters attempted a different tact: What do you tell the children?

“What can you say?” Richards replied. “It’s a very difficult situation. This is something I’ve dealt with for years; this is not a new situation. There are times where his life is more colorful than others, more public than others, and as the kids get older, it’s a difficult thing. I’m learning as I go too. I have never had to deal with this, and this was a subject I had hoped to talk with my children about as they got older. But it’s hard.”

Justin Bieber shot to death on 'CSI' (video)

Bieber-CSIImage Credit: CBSJustin Bieber returned to CSI last night as vengeful teenager Jason McCann and went out in a blaze of glory, by which I mean bullets blazed through him gloriously. (It wasn’t one of the twenty deaths we guessed for him, but it sure looked crazy.) Technically, Bieber was the episode’s “villain,” but if you think about it, his character was just a free spirit, a kid trying to be a kid, a rebel without a cause. Too bad crusty old grown-ups like Nick Stokes couldn’t just leave him be. Hey, Bieber’s just trying to have a good time here, Nick! Why did you have to destroy him? Don’t commit your hate crimes here. HATE CRIMES! Watch the final shootout after the jump… READ FULL STORY »

'Hall Pass' and 'SNL' star Jason Sudeikis takes on our Awkward Questions

Jason-Sudeikis-hall-PassImage Credit: Peter IovinoThe Saturday Night Live funnyman makes a play for the big screen in Hall Pass, a new Farrelly brothers comedy with Owen Wilson about frisky married men (in theaters Feb. 25). He can handle being on live TV every week, he can handle kissing Jon Hamm, but can he handle our cringe-worthy questions?

Refresh my memory. Did we ever sleep together?
Yes. It was wonderful. It was athletic, passionate, and very noisy. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I would say the only awkward thing about it was having security escort us out of the IKEA.  READ FULL STORY »

Sesame Street celebrates their furry blue monster with Super Grover 2.0 Week! (Take that Elmo, you fame-seeking fuzzball)

Super-GroverAfter playing second-fiddle to Elmo the interloper for far too long, Grover — that is, his alter ego, Super Grover 2.0 — is finally getting some time in the spotlight. Starting Monday, Feb. 21, Sesame Street will be celebrating “Super Grover 2.0 Week”, featuring a daily segment with everybody’s favorite (furry blue) superhero, whose powers involve the ability to observe, investigate, question, and report phenomenon to help kids solve problems. SG2.0 will also get some love on sesamestreet.org, with web-only clips and games. Am I only one out there who feels this Grover tribute is long overdue? READ FULL STORY »

PopWatch Confessional: 'Cars 2' toys are revving their engines, and I will hip-check you and your kid for first dibs

CARS-2Image Credit: DisneyDo you remember the thrill of anticipation when you raced through the aisles of a toy store to see if that one splendid piece of plastic you’d been obsessing over for weeks was waiting for you on a shelf? I certainly do, because I still feel it just about every time I’m in a toy store, a Target, or even the local food store. For I am, and have always been a collector — of Matchbox cars, of baseball cards, of music CDs, and now, as the father of a 5-year-old boy, of die-cast cars from the the Pixar film, Cars. I’m not certain how many little $3.99 vehicles we have in our home, but I can confirm that we have at least six different versions of Lightning McQueen. READ FULL STORY »

'30 Rock': Hookup on the Orient Express (Malarkey!)

30-ROCKImage Credit: Ali Goldstein/NBCFresh off her breakup from Pilot Carol, our dear Elizabeth Lemon decided to accept her downward spiral into spinsterhood. She rocked a fanny pack and held her hair back with a chip clip. For icing on her spinster cake, she adopted a cat and named her Emily Dickinson. She completed her look with an oversize hoodie and sweatpants. (But I don’t judge on that last one. Liz Lemon might just be my frumpy fashion icon. Truth.) Jenna wanted to help Liz rebound…sexually. So, she took her to a club that only Lemon could enjoy. At first, Liz was hesitant of the “hipster nonsense” but she came around after meeting the suave Anders. (AKA the yummy Eion Bailey.) The new couple hit it off, complete with a full-on spinning camera kiss outside the bar. It was then I cried, “Malarkey!” READ FULL STORY »

'Parks and Recreation': Interview with the (former) boy mayor

Parks-Recreation-Media-BlitzImage Credit: Chris Haston/NBCWhen we first met Ben Wyatt in Parks and Rec‘s second season, he was a serious, straightforward pragmatist — a fitting foil for both his overly exuberant boss and the wackier characters crowding Pawnee’s City Hall. But as Season 3 progresses, Ben is transforming from the ultimate straight man into a guy who can’t help letting his freak flag fly. Maybe there’s something in the water in southwest Indiana.
