I wish they hurry up and cancel Smallville. This series is boring and Superman still cannot fly.
Smallville is only boring when Chloe Sullivan is around. These past 4 episodes are glaring examples. Boring and annoying.
Spoiler: the lemur will be back in each of the upcoming episodes, until Darkseid takes over its body in the series finale for the final showdown with a newly-suited-up Superman. This episode was all about introducing the lemur.
And the lemur will fly before Clark Kent. Superlemur FTW! Clark Kent sure as sh*t is no where near becoming the legendary Man of Steel on Smallville. There’s a reason the term Big Dumb Alien originated from Smallville!
OMFG. What a complete waste of time! In any other season this only midly amusing filler episode would have been barely tolerated, but this is the last freaking season! It only goes to prove (once again) that the showrunners of Smallville are running on fumes when it comes to their storytelling. Seriously, no one else could have taken over from Gough and Millar when they left? Even the lemur in this craptastic episode could have done a better job at producing the show than Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders. The only consolation is that the overrated Chloe Sullivan has left the show – to inspire Batman and Wonder Woman, no less! What a crock!
Well it’s pretty obvious that GouLar worshipped the ground Kristin Kreuk wlaked on, so they elevated the Lana character way beyond what was logical, and seriously damaged the Clark Kent in the process. It’s just as obvious that PeteSou have given the character of Chloe Sullivan far more importance than was originally planned (scared of the tiny but rabid Allison Mack fanbase much?!) and now the Clark Kent character is just a joke! It’s also pretty obvious that both sets of showrunners seriously undervalued Tom Welling and Erica Durance.
She did not inspire Batman and Wonder Woman. She met them, which means they were already doing their thing. OR, she just saw them via Fate’s helmet.
Dear Jeff – where is your long promised/long delayed final article on Lost? If you aren’t going to do it, why not just admit it on Twitter? If you are going to do – WHAT IN THE WORLD IS TAKING YOU SO LONG?!
^THIS!
I think most Chloe haters are comic fans and r just pissed because she has had a huge role in Clark’s life. I wouldn’t give her all the credit but she’s encouraged Clark many times to believe in himself and to use his powers and that pisses people off. I don’t really understand it. Allison Mack has been apart of the show 10 years she deserves a good send off especially after years of Chloe being hurt and although she’s sometimes brought it on herself but she deserves happiness. And if she’s happy with Oliver so be it. I wasn’t always into them as a couple but the last scene of the ep got me a little emotional. The look on both their faces was enough to make me WANT them to be together. I REALLY hope they don’t rip them apart. I know Oliver has been marked but he’s capable of fighting it!
Nah. Oliver is going to go to the Darkseid and kill Chloe in her sleep. Hopefully.
Haha never in a million years would THAT happen. Hopefully they’ll go on to have lots of cute blonde genuis babies.
At least for me, the problem with Chloe had nothing to do with her not being from the comics. It has been her self-righteous attitude, which she’s had throughout the whole series. Her justifying her wrongdoings by throwing everyone else’s in their faces, as if them doing something wrong gives her a free pass. The Doomsday affair (which was predicted all the way back in Season 1 where she did the exact same thing with the telekinetic kid). Season 9′s backstabbing JLA-boss turn for Chloe, while at the same time she tears Clark down for not being honest with her (predicted in season 2 when she was looking into Clark’s past after he told her to stop). Calling Clark inhuman for not wanting to go back to trade someone else’s life for Jimmy’s, even though she had an equal share in Jimmy’s death, if not moreso than Clark and Ollie. Siding with Lionel Luthor because she was jealous of Lana Lang getting to date Clark. The blanket generalizations and labels she gives to groups of characters (the Kandorians, the football team at school, the cheerleaders), even though she either has no proof that they act the way she says they do, or the fact that her friends (Clark, Pete, and Lana) are part of those groups.
There are only a few points where she’s actually felt like a good friend to Clark (Seasons 4,5, 6, and 10) IMO, and unfortunately 5 had her becoming too much of Clark’s brain for a while there.
But even though I’ve never been a huge fan of Chloe’s character (though I don’t think her character has ever been written inconsistently, minus her family backstory drama), I was happy with her exit in this episode and I do hope she and Ollie can have a happy ending together. Her exit was a nice summation of her character over the years and it’s nice to finally see her on the right track.
What a disappointing and annoyingly episode. Practically everything in the episode had been stolen from better, funnier movies. Also, it was suppposed to be Clark and Lois’ bachelor/ette party. Chloe/Ollie and Tess/Emil got to kiss but the actual ‘loved up’ couple didn’t?! It’s season 9 all over again. BORING CLOIS in the second half. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words, a picture paints a thousand words, show don’t tell!!!!!! Epic fail.
That would be ‘annoying’ episode, and it totally was!
I am getting a little annoyed with the “borrowed” movie plots- some I haven’t even seen but am aware enough of to recognize. And it wasn’t just one episode. Hope this is the last of it.
Not sure why everyone is ragging on this episode. Yeah, it’s the last season, and yeah we all want major developments for Clark to become Superman, but you guys need to chill. We still have 7 episodes left which gives the writers plenty of time to finally transform Clark into the man of steel. So just chill… and to the people who say this is the worst episode in the whole series, please go back and rewatch the series, especially closer to the beginning. Fortune being worse than Cravings, Magnetic, majority of the episodes from season 4, Subterranean? Please. We’ve watched much worse on Smallville, and here we are still fans of the show…
As for the episode itself, I actually enjoyed it. I loved the drunked haze. I loved Emil and Tess. I loved Oliver dressed as a showgirl. I loved Lois showing her insecurities about marrying a guy like Clark. I loved Clark showing his fears about how he may be pushing Lois away. I loved Chloe and Oliver getting married. After watching the past two seasons, which have been pretty dark, it was nice to have a light, fun-filled episode. Yes, it was a ripoff of The Hangover, but what’s the harm in that? I feel this episode was one for the crew. It’s the last season. They’ve spent so much hard work into giving us this show that we love. Can’t they just enjoy themselves, cut loose, and lay back, and just have fun for one episode? After 10 years, they deserve it. If you didn’t enjoy this one episode full of laughs and smiles, then get over yourself. It obviously wasn’t for you.
well obv for most of us fans i think we are dissapointed as we want to see the journey continue not go sideways, and on top of that , with few episodes left when u see a fill in episode like this …well your a bit gutted to be fair. that said it was what it was , im sure the cast had fun making it looked like they did,
BRIAN … im sure this guy works for the show lol (good on ya mate)
anyways as fans we all have our opinions and the important thing is that we all love the cast and obv the SUPERMAN story , so lets pray that the writers finish our loyalty to the show with wot satisfies us all , …wotever that may be ….good luck !!
Hahaha I wish I did work for SV! I’m just a fan though.
I really loved this ep.
i thought it was so funny and fun, a real throw back tot he old adventures and plenty of silly costumes and wit. i really enjoyed it!!
They have absolutely ruined this last season. I am blown away by how bad it has been. Episode after episode of Clark losing and regaining his powers. The continual back and forth with Chloe leaving and returning. The inconsistencies with Tess. One moment Lois is accusing her of being evil the next she’s invited to her bachelorette party? It’s just been really bad. Breaks my heart because for years I’ve told people that under the cheese is a well thought out and deep retelling of the Superman mythos. A retelling that stayed true to the comic books and the movies.
But with episodes like earlier in the season when Clark was attacked by the farmers (btw we still don’t understand how Clark got his powers back in that episode) and with episodes like the last 2 I feel robbed.
This was the season to push Clark, to show him pushing his powers not losing them, they have him stuck in neutral and they have yet to really have a watershed moment this year.
Had they just given him the suit and/or had him flying they could have really finished this in an amazing way. Or even without that they should be transforming him into Superman more.
I will give credit for one thing. The mention of Batman and Wonderwoman.
PS the series would have been better getting rid of Lois 2 years ago and just having the relationship build slower.
Chlollie! I give this episode a 10/10 just based on those last 2 minutes. They’ve both suffered enough they deserve to be happy together.
Jeff,
What ever happened to your promised year-end (2010) post about Lost?
