'How I Met Your Mother': Will you be disappointed if the wedding is Barney's?

When did they establish that the wedding would be taking place this year? I figured that they were showing us the lead up to the final moments of the series.
While I’m in favor of a Barney-Robin wedding, I still can’t figure out how Ted would not have met the mother through them already. So I guess Cindy’s wedding would be the most logical explaination
You make a really good point. If it were a B/R wedding, how would either of them have a friend that Ted hadn’t already met somehow? It would make a lot of sense if it was Cindy’s wedding since it is her roommate.
Ted says he met the mother the DAY of a wedding. So the mother might not actually even be invited to whoever’s wedding it is – maybe he meets her on the street outside or something since the yellow umbrella is supposed to be part of the “short story” of how they met.
This better not be Barney’s wedding to Nora ! That would be ridiculous since that would mean they meet and marry in under 12 weeks. That would be a ‘shark jumping’ moment for me.
It is going to be Barney and Robin’s wedding. Ted promised to be Robin’s bestman earlier in the season.

She wasn’t in a weeding dress so I doubt it was her wedding to anyone.
Now if it wasn’t Robin but Lily….then anything is possible.

I won’t be disappointed, because in the end I DO want Barney with someone… But not Nora!
I highly doubt that 1. It will be barneys wedding and 2. This season will end with that wedding. I think this wedding is several seasons away AND I think it is Robins wedding because in False Positive robin asked Ted to be her best man when she gets married.

I like this the most of all the speculation. And its been established that this season WILL END with a wedding.
I don’t think that it’s Barney’s wedding to Nora because I believe that Barney would have James be his best man, but if it were Barney’s wedding to Robin both Ted and James could serve as best men
I’m so glad that Zoey isn’t the mother. I must have missed an epi cause I don’t know who Nora is.

She was introduced last week in the Valentine’s Day episode as a friend/coworker of Robin.

Sandra, you’re not giving the writers enough credit! This show has never had sloppy, lazy writing.
The whole Zoe storyline has been full of sloppy, lazy writing. They introduce this girl at a demonstration to save an old hotel, she eggs Ted’s apartment, insults him in his class, and tries to ruin his career. Then the story lurches into revealing that she’s lonely in her marriage to an older man, she’s not such a bad person, and now she and Ted are madly in love. I thought she was going to be on the show for two or three episodes, tops. Now I just want her gone for good.

If I remeber correctly, the wedding Ted said he meets the mother at is the lesbian wedding of Rachel Bilson’s character.
You are not remembering correctly. They have purposely left it wide open for who’s wedding it is. The obvious choice is Punchy, his Ohio friend, but its very likely thats a fake out.
Do we know for sure if the mother has blonde hair? I could have sworn Ted say she didn’t after the break up with Stella. Zoey leaving Ted at the alter would be a repeat of Stella, so I don’t think that’s going to happen again. Also, didn’t Ted say that the mother was in the class he was teaching too. I’m beginning to think Nora is the mother and it’s ruse that she’s going to end up with Barney.
The mother doesn’t have blonde hair. That one episode where he said if he had married Stella, they wouldn’t be them and they showed kids with blonde hair. So it’s more than likely the mother’s a brunette.
