Richard Castle and Sarah Walker crowned TV characters you'd most want to date

Most-Dateable-CharacterImage Credit: Bob D'Amico/ABC; Chris Haston/NBCAfter a combined 35,000 votes were cast in our Valentine’s Day polls, PopWatch readers have crowned Castle‘s Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Chuck‘s Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) the TV characters they would most like to date. We’ve yet to hear Fillion’s response to earning the title, but Strahovski, who defeated Castle‘s Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) by a mere 116 votes, has weighed in. ”I’m flattered by this honor, and although Sarah Walker is currently engaged, you never know what could happen on Chuck,” she tells EW. “Spread the word that thanks to these polling results, Sarah Walker is now accepting other offers. And here’s a hint: She thoroughly enjoys dates in Paris!”

I was hoping Chuck would win, I would definitely want to be dating him the most!!

    • chocolateislove

I’d also rather date Chuck, but I love Nathan Fillion (if not so much Castle himself).

      • allie

        i’d rather date chuck too!

      • WeloveChuck

totally! AGREE! CHUCK is way more charming and hot than that castle guy!

    • LOL

You can tell that girls and women are on this site much more than males. Check the vote totals.

    • Daniel

Sarah walker in the headline confused me. Was thinking Brothers and Sisters

      • Marie

haha!! oh wow, I never even noticed that those two characters had the same name!

      • Lori

Me too! I was so confused!

      • Allison

The family name is Walker, but it was established in Season 1 of Bros and Sisters that her name was Sarah Wheedon. I don’t know if she’s gone back to using her maiden name.

      • Ma

Sara from Brothers and Sisters is using her maiden name since she divorced.
I also got confused, and when I looked to the picture I tought “they made a mistake” hehe

      • Steph

And both of the Sarah Walker actresses are from Australia.. Weird or what?

    • ILoveZacLevi

Totally, totally agree. I was so disappointed that he wasn’t first.

  • Angela

I love, love, LOVE Nathan Fillion… but I’d way rather date him than Richard Castle. Seriously? Castle isn’t good dating material… unless your scale is heavily influenced by hotness, in which case I understand.

    • Ma

      I preffer Nathan himself too!

    • jossie

I’m pretty sure people voted thinking they would like beckett to him

  • Emma

Funny, ’cause I’d vote the other way around. I’d pick Chuck and Beckett, not Castle and Sarah!

    • jossie

      that’s is so funny

      • jossie

        forget the ‘s

  • Johnification

    It’s ok, Annie Edison, I’ll console you…

  • MCS

I love you anyway Annie Edison

  • tg

Not hot. I’m still for Raylan Givens (Tim Olyphant) or Tim Riggins (FNYL). Castle is a dork.

    • Kim E

Totally agree! Raylan Givens very hot!!!

  • sabrina W

cool, i’d date both castle and nathan fillion together! no need to be selfish lol…

  • darkdefender85

I would rather date Chloe Sullivan from Smallville. Less chance of getting shot and a greater chance at getting superpowers.

    • Zombie Jesus

      Tell that to Jimmy Olsen

  • Cris

I am a proud heterosexual male, but I’ll readily admit that I’d gladly date Nathan Fillion in any of his recent television incarnations.

    • fancypants

      you might be bi.

      • LOL

        “Might?” LOL

  • conor

wait a second, there is 2 Sarah Walkers on US TV at the same time, I thought this article was on about Brothers & Sisters Sarah Walker, seriously, have we ran out of TV names to make-up?

    • sean

      So did I

      • Liz

I was thinking of that Sarah Walker, too. To be honest, I would have been surprised if she had won. Nathan Fillion definitely deserves it, though. If I weren’t married, I’d go for him!

  • fancypants

It’s complete BS that Patrick Jane (Simon Baker from The Mentalist) and Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer from House MD) weren’t even on the list for contention! Two overlooked delicious Australians, if you ask me. I still can’t get over it! But somehow I will find a way to move on. Somehow.

    • Eric p

I’m surprised at the lack of diversity on the list. With two exceptions on the womans side everyone else was white.

    • David

I’ve never watched House, so I can’t comment there. But Patrick Jane is a emotionally wrecked manipulative narcissist. Tasty as he may be, anyone who wants to be in a relationship with him has got issues.

      • MCO

And Chase just divorced ! He had became a serious womanizer, even had a threesome with a minor, and do not want to date or any form of relationship

  • Javadude54

Of course Patrick Jane didn’t win. What woman is going to want to date a man who always knows when she is lying? ;-)

  • fancypants

Also it’s disappointing that there were only 3 non-white characters/actors on either list (Sofia Vergara, Rashida Jones and Grace Park).

    • Javadude54

I only voted for Pam Beesly but I sure wouldn’t turn down a date with Dr. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor-Bones). She’s extremely intelligent, has a great dry sense of humor and is one of the most beautiful women on TV.

    • hannah

maybe because there are more white people on tv??

    • Voodoo

Sofia Vergara, although foreign, is white. And no, there is no such race as “Latin”.

      • GT

As a Latina I guarantee to you that no other Latino person would ever say that they’re white. It’s actually quite offensive for us to be completely disregarded and be forced to label ourselves as something that we’re not. So, Sofia Vergara is not white. She may have light skin but she’s clearly from a different ethnicity AND RACE. (Race is a made up concept anyways, used by racist societies of the past… and apparently present day US too.)

      • Voodoo

Hahaha, you’re funny. You’d probably say that people from Spain aren’t white either. Sofia is from Colombia so the US race “rules” don’t apply to her. Most Colombians consider themselves white, and Sofia is a natural blonde for god’s sake. And ethnicity isn’t the same thing as race. Jewish is an ethnicity, not a race. Same goes for “Latin” (and this includes Latin-Americans of all races). Don’t you try to impose US ideas of race on the rest of the world.

      • Ma

        I dont agree.
I’m from Brazil and we consider ourselves white. Our ancestors are portuguese and italian, mainly.
And I think it’s the same in Argentina.

If you say latin american, it’s about culture… and people in the USA and Canada are anglo-saxon-american. Those are the right terms.

Now, about skin color, doesn’t matter where you are born, you can be black in Swedish and white in Africa.

  • Marianne

I love Yvonne’s response! The mention about the dates in Paris was a cute touch. :)

  • Buffy Freak

How did Charlie Sheen’s character on Two and a Half Men not win?

    • Kay

It was for most datable, not most dated.

    • Carlito93

Apparently Charlie Sheen is NOT winning.

      • Casey

        Please retire that phrase now.
