I MISS HIM. SURE HOPE HE’S BACK IN THE FALL
i love derek and think he is the best of all the pro dancers it sounds like some people dont know talent when they see it i will be glad when hes back
I am a middle age woman and I just LOVE Derek and Julianne Hough !!!I miss them both !!
Derek is one of the best choreographers on the show. I personally have not always enjoyed some of his partners, so he doesn’t always gets the best. All the professionals kiss their partners… enough rude comments about Derek. Also, hats off to Max and the great job he did with Kirsty…so much for your comments on size. One professional who is due a good partner is Tony, but no matter what he still has that beautiful smile. For those who have so many problems, DON’T WATCH!
Derek being a perv? My goodness, no. When you are dancing with someone, what with the closeness you end up having, “hands all over” becomes completely part of the landscape. If you’re not comfortable with that, you shouldn’t be dancing ballroom.
As for Derek getting all the good ones — hello. Have you watched, really watched, Shannon Elizabeth’s routines, for example? Her movements were awkward and her legs were too long, so what Derek did was to choreograph moves that hid those flaws, and that’s why she got as far as she did. Li’l Kim was very good with sultry hip movement, but that does not translate into good dances all the time especially the non-Latin dances, so he again worked on movements that highlighted what she was good at. It is his brilliance as a teacher (listen to his partners gush about that all the time) and his abilities as a choreographer that made it possible, and if his partners were willing to work, they got far.
He can sometimes be a ham, yes. He obviously loves attention. But then again, as some people noted, if you watch the show for the dancing, let’s give credit where credit is due. He may be a ham sometimes but he is a brilliant dancer and a wonderful choreographer. Peace, brothers and sisters.
I think Derek was a very talented dancer.
There is certainly nothing easy about dancing with Jennifer Grey and all of her injuries, and they both made it look as if it were seemlessly. You all sound like a bunch of wannabe dancers, and most of you sound as if you are still in the closet.
Good luck with your diets!
All the best to you Derek!!!!!!!!!!
Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
Your name is not really Julie is it?
uh…no. I was trying to be polite-if that had been my brother….someone’s head would roll.
No, but I do like the name…
Back up derek is a great dancer
