Today, Logo announced five shows it is developing. I’ll list them below so you can read about the expansion of the RuPaul’s Drag Race dynasty and the show Sarah Silverman is exec producing. For me, the clear standout is Queen of Harts, from Peter Marc Jacobson, co-creator and producer of The Nanny. It’s described in the release as, “a multi-camera comedy series about a struggling hairdresser who disguises himself as a woman in order to land a job as a nanny for a former ’80s rock star’s family.” Seriously, this is the perfect comedy: You get a man in drag + an ’80s rock star + Nanny humor. (Don’t even try to pretend I’m the only one who’s gotten sucked into multiple episodes on Nick at Nite and TV Land.)
So many questions: Which ’80s star should play the rocker? (Christopher Atkins? Scott Baio?) How long should he keep his true identity a secret? Will the kids find out together, or will they find out one at a time? (You know Dad will be the last to know so we can keep some sexual tension.) Weigh in below, and let’s hope we at least get to pilot stage on this one. Other shows on Logo’s development slate include:
Tig Has Friends: Sarah Silverman is the Executive Producer of this show starring the brilliantly deadpan comedian Tig Notaro (also a Co-Executive Producer), who interviews the cast of a different TV show, movie or band every week, reveals their unknown talents, and then delves into the audience for a raucous Q&A. The show will be run by Erin O’Malley, executive producer of Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Sarah Silverman Program.
Sally Hershberger Project: This docu-series chronicles the fast-paced life of celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger, the first woman to achieve monumental success with her high-end bi-coastal hair salon empire.
Sex Therapy: Noted therapist Dr. Christopher Donaghue offers guidance to a sex therapy group in this series that tracks each member’s progress around infidelity, trust issues, relationship intimacy and sexual addiction.
Life’s a Drag: Life’s a Drag is a new docu-series about life after RuPaul’s Drag Race. The series features a group of breakout contestants from past seasons of the competition series, as they work and live together while headlining a drag revue. Featuring their joys, challenges, and diva attitudes, the series explores what it’s really like for a group of talented men who make their living as women.
Sounds so awesome! I still watch Nanny reruns all the time.

All those shows sound awful. Why so much drag on this network? The void left by Will and Grace is overwhelming.
LOGO is, IMO, a failure. The movies they air are, for the most part, pretty dreadful. The original series, other than Drag Race, have been majorly disappointing. When the best show you have is Buffy reruns it might be time to rethink the concept.
LOGO has been a disappointment, but let’s face it. It will never be a TNT or USA or FX or Bravo or
even Lifetime. It appeals to a niche that is clearly defined, and unlikely to increase in size. I guess it does the best it can.
I’m interested in watching the Sex Therapy show. I love In the Bedroom on OWN with sex therapist Dr. Laura Berman, but I’d like to see the group dynamic as well.
