I love Hulu but am not surprised about the change afoot. They were in a great position to ease us into a nominal paid subscription when it started up, but now I think they are at parity with other options and have probably signaled their own demise. (See: Blockbuster)

I use Hulu to watch shows on breaks at work. If it becomes a pay service, I won’t use it anymore, and some shows that I would only watch on Hulu will then lose one online viewer.

I prefer Hulu because the interface and navigation. I’d love to know what network sites you’re using that are so great because they are all still horrid to me.

I do like having older shows available and have been going through Quantum Leap whenever there’s nothing new for me to watch, but it won’t pain me to lose it. I’ll just add more video files to my smartphone and watch them instead. I’d rather give Hulu the support than the other means I use to obtain shows.

The only real reason I go on Hulu anymore is to watch old SNL skits.

If they go subscription-only maybe that’ll stop sites from embedding their videos, thereby frustrating the 99% of Internet users around the world who aren’t allowed to access Hulu. People in Japan can’t watch HBO or Showtime, either, so if Hulu just becomes another American cable network, then at least it’ll stop people thinking it’s this worldwide revolution when it never has been.

Ok, I’ve had netflix for about 6 months… The reason Hulu and Netflix are around is because of people like myself who have pushed them into this by downloading (supposedly illegally) tv shows and movies. So, get netflix and start watching and rating titles. After that, go to the suggestions and if it says add to DVD queue then just download it on torrents… A new show you just missed, will be available on torrents within the hour and be good quality. I see a movie netflix doesn’t have available to watch instantly, I download it and will be watching in 15 minutes. The point is just keep downloading and you will eventually get the business model you have been waiting for. These bastards are just trying to hold on to the past and continue raping us as they have for years.
