Leo deserves some recognition for either shutter island or inception, hes a great actor and I feel like the academy still views him as the “boy” from titanic and not the man he is now.
Is anyone expecting twin nominations for Helena Bonham Carter for both “Alice In Wonderland” and “The King’s Speech?” What about a supporting nod for Mark Ruffalo in “The Kids Are Alright?” Marion Cotillard’s performance in “Inception” was KEY to making that film work. What about her? Also, Andrew Garfield had one hell of a year. I think the supporting actor/actress categories are going to be the most interesting to see who wins. =)
I hope it is Leonardo DiCaprio. He deserved a nom for both Shutter Island and Inception.
Tilda Swinton in “I Am Love”
Chloe Grace Moretz stole the show in Kick Ass. She would definately be my pick for a Supporting Actress nod.
Andrew Garfield would get 2 nominations if it were up to me. Social Network is more known, but he was touching, sad and haunting in Never Let Me Go. I’d also like a nomination for Carey Mulligan – that movie has stayed with me since I saw it.
I think Naomi Watts and Sean Penn were excellent in Fair Game, and I sure hope Jeremy Renner gets nominated for The Town. where was he all these years? Renner has come on like gang-busters the past couple of years, and good on him!
I would have to go with Leo in “Shutter Island” also (haven’t seen “Inception”, so I don’t know about that, but his performance in “SI” was phenomenal).
I said it weeks ago here… Barbara Hershey had the best supporting actress role in “Black Swan,” not Mila Kunis. Her control over her adult daughter was just scary.
I hoping for Ewan McGregor, Best Supporting Actor for “I Love you Philip Morris” (Great movie!)
Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo)was overlooked by the Golden Globes. She deserves a nod for best actress, not onlya nod but a win!.
Justin Timberlake, Supporting Actor, for Social Network. He was just as good as any of the other supporting actors in that movie whose names have been mentoned.
He was fine, but definitely not as good as Andrew Garfield or Armie Hammer.
I so agree with you Dave about Andrew Garfield and Arnie Hammer
Miranda Richardson in “Made in Dagenham.”
I thought Diane Lane has been overlooked all year for Secretariat. Kind of this years blind side role…
