No voice and data simultaneously? Crap! I love being able to do that, and here I’d been so looking forward to being able to switch back to Verizon. Now I’m not so sure.

I was thinking the same thing.

I was waiting and waiting for verizon to get the iPhone, but with an iPad now all I need is a basic phone that calls and texts.

I love apple, but there is only so much technology you can get from them without overlapping.

I’m a little worried that this will slow down the entire Verizon network, but maybe I just don’t know how phone networks works.

It’s gonna overrun the Verizon network like the iPhone kills the AT&T network

I got a Droid because I wasn’t willing to switch from Verizon, no matter how much I wanted an iPhone. With this announcement, I could finally have an iPhone, which would certainly offer advantages when it comes to apps and managing my music library. On the other hand, I love the Google Maps GPS and Flash capabilities that the Droid offers. So, Droid or iPhone? I’d love to know what other Droid users think about the various pros and cons the iPhone offers.

      Stay with the Droid

I have a DROID on Verizon that does data and voice at the same time. Looks another item that Apple drones will have to overlook.

I switched from Verizon to ATT for the iPhone a year and a half ago. I was a Verizon lover, but have loved the iPhone. I know a lot of people complain about AT&T, but I’ve not had a real problem with my phone. Sure there are some dropped calls or interruption with the internet, but that happens on all phones. I’m definitely curious to see how the iPhone works on the Verizon network. I, too, am hoping that if there is an exodus from AT&T that it will free up the network. The one thing for me, that I wish the iPhone had, was flash so I could watch more live sports online, but otherwise LOVE the phone. I do not plan to switch back just because Verizon now has it. But I will be watching to see how it goes.

I have Verizon and switching to AT&T was in my future because of the IPhone, now I’m just not sure. I don’t like Verizon, but is it worth switching? I’ve heard good and bad about AT&T – what do you all suggest between Verizon and AT&T?

I was so excited when I heard the rumor of the iphone on Verizon and have been anxiously waiting because I’m a loyal Verizon customer. However, now that I read more about it, I’m not too sure. I will not be getting a droid either. I may just stick with my Blackberry a little bit longer and see how things go with other iPhone/Verizon customers.
