Two weeks after an accident during an acrobatic scene of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark left him with four broken ribs, three broken vertebrae, a fractured elbow, shoulder, and skull, and internal bleeding, cast member Christopher Tierney has become the hyped musical’s most important ambassador. Last night on CBS-New York, the recovering actor said all the right things — “I’m overjoyed to be working on the show” — dismissed the accident as “just a bit of human error,” and delivered the early frontrunner for the quote of the year: “These guys, they know safety … They don’t mess around.”
This morning, there he was again, joining the rest of the cast on Good Morning America, proclaiming the magnificence and relative safety of the show. “The moment I feel like I’m good, I’m back in that show. I can’t wait.” Check him out after the jump.
Reeve Carney, who plays Peter Parker, couldn’t have said it better when he commented that if the show is to enjoy a major resurgence, it will be due to Tierney, who’s been almost too affable amidst his misfortune. After several other snafus, the show seems to understand that it can’t endure another mishap and Tierney’s grace is a gift.
What was your take on Tierney’s interviews?

His settlement must have been immense which means part of the settlement required him to say these things, assuring that the show is no longer liable for any suit he would want to file. Broken vertebrae? That will screw him for life.
Bingo.
Oh my god. Really? This is about the 3rd post in 2 days on this guy. I’m starting to think you guys are on Taymor’s payroll.
