The person who should have won was Cher Lloyd, she wtites her own stuff and is very clever, so if given the chance she could do very well on both sides of the pond. I liked Rebecca but it could be a year before she has enough material of her own as she is not a song writer and doing covers of other peoples songs is not the way forward. Matt writes but he falls into an area that has many others as good as him, where as Cher is unique and Rebecca has this amazing voice that as soon as you hear it, you know who it is and that is what any star needs this is why she should make it.

I don’t understand the Kris Allen/David Cook/Lee Dewyze comparisons. Yes he did do the whole acoustic guitar thing for two weeks but his vocal range absolutely eclipses any of the aforementioned artists, and his performances have been for the most part totally different and on the whole, alot more creative than those of Kris Allen/David Cook/Lee Dewyze.

In other words, aside from the fact that they’re white and male, I don’t see much of a similarity.

omg Matt totally deserved his win. I think he will be amazing in both the UK and the USA. To all complaining he is like previous Idol winners let me remind you of something, the X Factor is nothing like Idol. You should all be happy that you are getting OUR show over there…

If in doubt about matt’s potential for success, may I suggest you check out seven summers, his band before the x factor…

I loved Matt, he has personality by the bucketload and his voice is interesting and different. I don’t think he’s a thing like Lee.

Rebecca was a nice person and all that, but her singing voice wasn’t something that sounded remotely attractive to me.

I’m waiting to buy Matt’s CD from Amazon on the 28th

Hmmm, Matt is a dime a dozen in the USA. There are so many better looking aka Justin Beiber/boy band types here. It is over saturated with voices that sound like Matts. If he was unique and had a different type of voice, I could see the USA cross-over, however, if he ties to come to the USA, he will get lost in the sea of many. The last two male American Idol winners did not do well at all.
