Every time I see Sash, I think of a character out of MAD magazine. I don’t remember which one, but definitely a cartoon character. Benry going did surprise me, I have no idea at this point who will win
I think it was the editing that made it surprising. I mean, we knew it would be Benry or Fabio based on the clips we were shown. It would have been a real blindside if Jane, Holly, or Chase were taken out.
I got an uneasy feeling about Sash during this episode. He reminded me of a crooked used car salesman. I can’t believe Dan is still there….
Dan is terrible. I have a horrible horrible feeling he is going to win it all.
Don’t worry. I’m sure that he will be voted out soon.
Soap, I hope you’re right. To echo Mllash’s concerns, if Dan wins this seasons it will just be icing on the cake for this sad season.
This week’s classic moment: Dan spoke and grew some more beard hair.
“I think Sash made a good move to back the guys.” WHAT? He voted with the girls and Chase. Am I crazy?? The guys didn’t even know what he was up to! Fabio voted Holly, and the rest voted Fabio. How did he back the guys if he voted one of the guys off??
I was hoping they would just show the smuffed torches from Nao and Kelly (burple) and not actually show them walking into tribal. Everytime they go for a reaction shot, show the torches and at the final Tribal when Nao and Silent ask their questions show their torch, instead, when they are talking. The reunion show, have their torches at their seats and make them sit off to the side of the stage off main camera.
Lots of snake shots in this episode. It flew past Kelly (burple) for more screen time again this season.
Since there are only two shows left I am already planning on what I am going to go eat in the kitchen during the barfy/schmaltzy memory walk that the finalists always take. Look a memento from that loser who’s name we never got to learn before they were smuffed, and look that wacko who made everyone feel scuzzy, and hey how about a tribute to the two quitters this season…. maybe I’ll make chicken nuggets during that segment in honor of the fallen fowl
Let’s all face it, Dan doesn’t have the phsyical ability to win (or even compete for more than a few seconds) in the usually VERY phsyical final challenge so he will HAVE to rely on someone to take him with them. His whole season will boil down to how well he is able to convince the person choosing to take him with them. I’m sceptical that he even has that in him. I almost hope he is a loser, through and through.
Ah, the nature shots of the locations are great. Yes, the snakes are definitely getting a lot of screen-time. What happened to the cute monkeys? I guess they’re not ominous enough

However, I think what’s putting Jerri off is that BestPlayer constantly insists that he could win it all and also is very rude towards people with different opinions than he has. It’s that he doesn’t respect the fact that he’s NOT in the game and that it’s a complicated dynamic. AND it’s that he constantly calls people morons.

Dan is there because he’s an easy out when it gets down to 4 people. He can’t beat anybody in a challenge so he’s not getting immunity. Jane/Holly/Chase if they’re really that strong MUST flush the idol next week or they’re not going to make the final 3. Sash and Chase will both play an idol to get into the final. Chase is in the absolute best spot of everybody. Correct side of the strongest alliance, shared food with that alliance, and has an idol that nobody knows about. Stinking noinka strikes again without even being there. She didn’t even like chase. Such bs.
My guy Fabio is hosed. I don’t see it happening unless he manages to get immunity. Unfortunately it appears as though he’s on the wrong side of the strongest alliance, nobody wants to compete against him, and he has no idol. His only other hope is to pull a blindside on one of the others, but I don’t think he’s a good strategist that way. Meaning that I think he’s just a happy go lucky honest guy. You could almost see it in his eyes, that he was hurt that honesty and good will can still get pissed on in this game. Wish it didn’t Fabio because I think you’ve been the only player to play it straight up. Maybe Holly as well.
I do like Fabio a lot too, for the reasons that you state. He just seems like a genuine guy. It’s shocking that Sash still has his idol considering how long it’s been in his possession. If the tribe doesn’t make a move to get rid of it soon, then Sash will use it to his advantage. I am rooting for Fabio, though it does seem like Chase is in the best position to make it to the final right now. If it’s a final with Chase v. Sash, I bet Chase would get the win. If it’s Chase v. Fabio then it’s more up in the air. If Chase wants to win, he’s gotta bring Sash or Dan to the final.
I am not sure what it is about Sash either but I cant stand him and I started out liking him. Maybe its the grey in his beard LOL. Or maybe its because he is a mortgage broker or all of the above.

And his awful confessionals where he constantly insists he’s in control of everything. He’s been saying that almost all season. Still don’t understand why he’s in there. He’s lucky he got immunity this week.
Asking someone to swear on a relative is as ‘elementary school’ as making them pinky swear. Maybe now Chase can doubledog dare Sash to play the immunity idol.
You have to respect Sash’s strategy. He’s lot more likeable than most of the people left in my opinion. At times he may appear insincere, but that’s not as bad as the brashness of Russell for example.
He is over-the-top insincere. What he was saying to Jane about her being a “second mom” made my stomach churn because he is so full of it. On the other hand, I actually liked watching Russell play. Guess I’m weird? LOL
To Sklyer (love your monniker by the way) Interesting comment about Russell and Sash. Russell never pretended to be kind, you’re right. He was always full of himself and admitted it. Sash is full of himself but pretends otherwise. That “mother” comment from Sash is certainly a real strategy in a game of Survivor (outwit) but I get the feeling he does that in his real life. Russell is what you see (and hear) is what you get. You have an interesting observation — thanks.

To Skyler…yes, I remember which seasons. Candice (tall thin blonde) was all sweaty and dirty after the rope challenge and she walked over and asked for a hug and got one. Jeff said something like “sure I will). dalton even blogged about it afterward.

Since Dan can’t possibly win the very physical final challenge he will have to rely on someone to take him to the final. It will be interesting to see if Dan’s lame-ness is total when it come down to him having to convince the person to take him. At this point I’m more interested in whether he’s a complete lame a@@ than who actually wins this season. I”m hoping he is a total loser. It would just be awkward if he rocked that boat at this point (Maybe wrong choice of words since I see him more lying down in the middle of a boat than rocking it)

Do you have knowledge of the final challenge? As a 21 season fan, I know the final challenges are not physical ones. Remember the stacking of the cards? Remember the stacking of the plates of china and tea cups? The memory challenges? I think it is possible for Dan to win because the jury may simply vote FOR Dan as a way to vote AGAINST someone they don’t like. For example, Benry would likely vote for Dan over Sash.
Ugh, I know you’re right, but deep down I hope you aren’t. It’d be so upsetting to have Dan win, especially since (a) he’s useless and (b) he brought $1600 shoes with him to the jungle. He doesn’t need the money!

I gotta just vent here. I have watched every Survivor season and I must say this has to be one of the worst. Watching those two quitters walk in and sit on the jury just about made me puke. And then hearing you justify it in last week’s blog just blew my mind. I’ve read enough of your blogs to know you hate quitters. Precedent? Sounds like a weak excuse to justify a mistake that’s been made. Survivor changes the rules all the time. No one wants to see quitters sit on the jury. No one thinks quitters should have any vote or say so in who gets the million dollars. Honestly I’m going to grit my teeth every time I see those two on Ponderosa and every time they open their mouth on the jury. Your fans hate quitters. Those quitters should never be seen again.
Wednesday night sucks. The rainy Nicaragua location sucks. This year’s cast sucks. Keeping quitters sucks. I’m still watching but I’m a diehard fan. I hope Survivor has not jumped the shark. Please let’s get back to old school Survivor.

but I do remember you from more than one season ago. I have a cousin named Dwight who is a big fan. He lives in New Orleans and I wondered if you were him.
Jeff, from the moment Naonka & Kelly quit I thought that Sash was the clear favorite. Why? Now he has three sure votes on the jury, Brenda, Kelly & Naonka and probably four, counting Marty. Why aren’t the others saying anything about that?
This truly is the worst season … terrible strategy, annoying or boring players, totally predictable (except Brenda’s ouster) and very, very few likable people.
At the final when the votes are read, why don’t you read Kelly & Naonka’s votes and then rip them up and say, “Quitters’ votes don’t count”. You guys change the rules all the time anyway, and this would make it more interesting, shocking and maybe will affect the outcome. Please, do this, I beg you! It will possibly make this season memorable! (in a good way)
Are you kidding? Do you really think Brenda is going to vote for him after he pulled a 180 on her by not giving her the immunity idol and getting her voted off?
I don’t think Marty would vote Sash either. I always got the impression he liked Brenda more than Sash. I think Marty would be more likely to vote for Fabio (or Jane if she made it to the final; he did say that he would even vote for her).
