Jane Fonda wants to be on television

Filed under: Television, TV and tagged: ,

jane-fondaImage Credit: Todd Duffey/C2C/PR PhotosJane Fonda wants to be on TV, because of course she does. She told the AP that she had “a vision of what [her series] could be,” and that she thinks “the best, edgiest writing is now on cable television.” Well, Jane, perhaps you could start with some guest roles.

How about Damages? The show has a solid track record for giving its guest stars a lot to do — holla atcha, Lily Tomlin! — and it shows off an actor’s range as well as any show on TV. (Who knew Ted Danson could be so icy?) If Big Love wasn’t ending, that’d be a good bet, too, but maybe the not-cable-but-still-terrific The Good Wife? I could see Fonda throwing down against Christine Baranski.

This is more of a longshot, but I’d totally watch Fonda go vamp/camp on True Blood, too. I mean, there must be some vampires who were turned in their golden years, no?

Okay, PopWatchers, your turn: Cast Jane Fonda on a TV show. Go!

wow the good wife IS a terrific idea. both her and Christine Baranski can hold their own.

    • Who saw this coming?

Maybe she could play Betty White’s mother on Hot In Cleveland.

  • Elizabeth

Since we haven’t met Michael Scott’s mother yet on “The Office”… I’d like to see her in a funny role, but I like the idea of Jane on television anyway.

  • Paca

Put her on “Americas Most Wanted”.
For aiding and abetting the enemy in time of war.

    • ks

      You said it, I agree.

  • fritz

I totally agree with Paca. Remember Vietnam POW’s ! She was a traitor then and will always be.

  • Sgt. Gene

Hanoi Jane can do her show in Viet Nam, where she belongs. Maybe they will have an episode where she shots down an American plane and she has her photo taken with the dead crew members.
    Now that’s a show!

  • Louise

Really, guys? Hanoi Jane comments? Let me guess, you guys just can’t get enough of that wacky, winkin’, “nature lover” Sarah P.?

    • Jason

It’s idiotic that you would try to compare Palin to the repulsive actions committed by Jane Fonda. Every breath she takes is an insult to the veterans of this country.

    • ks

Jane and Sarah desearve each other

  • Scarlett G Novack

Maybe she could put wreaths on the graves of those POW’s whose deaths she called. Good ole Hanoi Jane just doesn’t understand that traitors are not too popular. and yes we still remember……….

  • Scarlett G Novack

Must be getting old! “whose deaths she caused”.

  • Scarlett G Novack

Has nothing to do with Sarah P. Just with the actions of Jane Fonda herself!

  • P/O’ed Marine

I got a good roll for “hanoi” oops I mean jane “hanoi” fonda she can stay off tv and out of movies because as a patriot of this blessed country America I refuse to watch anything with that traitor in it! She should have been put down like the rabid traitorous bitch she is years ago Semper Fidelis and Ooh Rah!

  • Sgt. Gene

I only wish Louise was in Chu Lai with me during tet 68… Nothing to do with Sarah, just her being a Traitor! But you are probably a flower child, never did a thing except complain and expect something for nothing!

  • Lori

Now that Marlene is dead on The Big C, we need another fiesty woman of a certain age. Maybe Fonda could be Linney’s mother. Or an older hookup of Hank’s on Californication.

  • Grumpster

Jane…your 15 minutes was up 40 years ago.

  • melodie

well actually in the Southern vampire mysteries aka sookie/true blood books, there isa character called the ancient pythoness. a mysterious ancient, like dawn of men ancient, oracle who was turned by early vamps to become their authority.
Jane Fonda would be more than fantastic for the TB version role!!!

  • Vet

    Hanoi Jane—just go away!
