Add Anne Hathaway to the growing list of celebrities vying for a guest spot on Glee. Despite the competition, the Oscar-nominated actress’ preparedness just might put her over the edge. Last night on Late Night, the Love and Other Drugs star – and current EW cover girl — confided in Jimmy Fallon that she already has ideas for her character and a song choice in mind. What could it be? A princess-y Queen Bee, or something edgier, like her character Kym in Rachel Getting Married? See for yourselves, as Hathaway launches her Glee campaign after the jump. Are you watching this, Ryan Murphy?
Hardly the nerdiest interview ever, Stephen Sondheim FTW! Hathaway was raised on musical theater and held her own beside song and dance man Hugh Jackman during Oscar’s 2009 opening number, so we know she’s up to the task. The question is: Should Ryan Murphy be open to any and all celebrities who want to be on the show, or should there be more of an screening audition process? Gleeks, would you welcome Annie with open arms? Sound off below!

Latest Glee recap: Give Gwyneth the Emmy!

That was actually a very entertaining interview and I would love to see her in an episode of Glee.
All I know is that I’d bang her like a screen door.
Now that I’d agree with.
Here! Here!
the back-door too.
I’d watch Anne Hathaway in anything, so count me in for that episode of GLEE!
Does ew have to write about Glee everytime it is mentioned? A whole episode of Late Night was dedicated to Springsteen tuesday and I didn’t hear a word about it on ew.
No more guest stars period. THis show is rapidly going off the celebrity guest appearance rail.
Amen
It’s way too soon for the show to turn into Will & Grace, in terms of celebrity guest stars.
Seeing stuff like this is exactly why I am leaning towards not watching Glee anymore. I want good stories. Not stories built around celebrity guests who are using Glee as some sort of accessory like Paris Hilton uses a chihuahua.
I like her and I think I’d rather see her on ‘Glee’ than Gwyneth or Britney, but I think it should be a while down the road.
Totally agree laylagalise. I’m getting a little tired of the celebrity guest spots. It’s starting to feel like I’m watching the last two seasons of Will & Grace. however, I do think she would be good on the show down the line.
I agree with BlackIrish and Ben. Stop with the guest stars. Enough already.
They can’t even give the regulars any screen time (Mercedes, Tina, Mike, Artie) I am getting tired of the story lines being about Finn, Rachel, Quinn, Sam and Kurt all the time
Actually, come to think of it, they barely do anything on Rachel anymore. Too bad. As one of the main characters they really should try to flesh her out more.
So true!!! Maybe they’re saving her for mama-drama in the back nine.
I’m actually okay with that. I want to see more of Tina, Artie, Brittany, Santana, and Mike.
I hope that once they wrap up Kurt’s storyline, the next one goes to the characters above.
I. Love. This. Woman.
Winona, I agree with you. You cannot hate this lady. Hathaway is never phony, like many of her Hollywood peers. She is beyond loveable, humble, and adorable. Anne always give great interviews- extremely energetic and watchable. I want this lady on Glee ASAP. It would be cool if the producers paired Hugh Jackman & Anne Hathaway to guess-star on an episode of Glee.
P.S. I hope she stars in the film version of Wicked opposite Matthew Morrison.
Can’t stand her. Don’t want to see her on Glee. Loved Paltrow, but the less stunt-casting on Glee, the better it is.
I like Anne Hathaway. “She’s every woman.” But I don’t want her on that crappy show.
Don’t forget that Hathaway also sang two songs in the kids movie “Ella Enchanted.” She can sing!
After Gwyneth’s perfomance, why not! I do see the downside of having too much of these ‘specials’; more attention to main character developments. But Gwyneth was sooooo much fun!
I like her and she was actually pretty cute on the Simpsons when she voiced Princess Penelope. I do have a question. Are we EVER going to see Cheyenne Jackson, the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline again? He made a far too brief appearance in the first episode but nothing since (I don’t even know if he spoke a word). I hope we see him at Regionals.
