In 21 seasons, Survivor has been to some pretty amazing locations, from the plains of Africa to the jaw-dropping beauty of the Cook Islands. So we went to one man who has seen it all, host Jeff Probst, to ask: What is the best Survivor location ever? Different locales offer different advantages. Some offer curious creatures that can add an element of spectacle and danger. Others offer breathtaking blue water that can be utilized for challenges. And others offer picture-perfect weather. For his favorite location, that wily Probst has picked the one that combines the best of all three elements, and having been there, I can’t say I disagree. To see Probst’s pick, just check out the video player below the jump, and then stay tuned to also see his selections for the best Tribal Council, best challenge, and best marooning ever. Do you agree with his choices? If not, then what are your picks? Hit the message boards and let us know.

I kind of wish they’d go back to Africa or Australia.
I wish they would come to my backyard, it is wild.
They need to do Survivor: Wisconsin.
Africa was HORRIBLE. Gabon was fine, but the location for the third season was so dull. They couldn’t do anything there! And this is coming from someone who has been to an African country and loved it. It just didn’t work.
I didn’t think Africa was that bad. It was HARD for the contestants as there was no major water source (ocean, rivers, lake). They had to put up with harsh terrain and while it may have been boring to you, I found it interesting. In no other season have we had the “big cats” like the lion and jag circling the contestants. Not my favorite locale but not my pick for the worst, either.
What’s his pick? I can’t watch video at work…
Yep, that bothers me too! I can read faster than I can watch, and I can skip over boring parts while reading (not that there are boring parts).
All of Jeffs picks thus far (tribal, locale, challenge) have taken place in Palau
Uh…no, tribal was Micronesia: Fans vs Favorites with Erik giving up his immunity neckace
Micronesia = Palau
Really homeboy?! Micronesia IS Palau. It was the EXACT same location.
He was implying that all three were during Palau (even if he said IN)
Micronesia = My Backyard
admit it, anakinjmt, you got it WRONG.
Palau was his pick!
Dalton this is great you are the best recaper of all the shows the extras you do are the best
I WAS VERY DISAPOINTED WITH DANCE WITH STARS I WILL NEVER WATCH THID SHOW AGAIN SINCE THE BEGNING OF THE SHOW I WAS UPSET WIT THE DANCERS THAT WAS SENT HOME AND AGAIN THE 1 THAT NEEDED TO GOME FROM THE BEGNNING STILL IN THE RUN.
HUH?
wrong board, Nicole. However, I will say that Bristol Palin must have a HUGE number of fans to keep her around.
I must say – Palau is quite beautiful! The water is extremely blue!!!
People forgot the rules of DWTS. It is skill AND popularity. Bristol may not be the best dancer but she is getting popular. Sadly, popularity seems to be the the higher criteria so she stays. If high percentage is skill, then, yes, she should be booted out a long time ago. To me, she is not a dancer; she can dance but there is no life in her. Dancing is an art of body expression; it is emotional with intense feeling, which Bristol does not have. In addition, it is very difficult to say if the voting is not rig especially considering that the producer’s main goal is exposure and controversiality leading to attractive marketability thereby higher charges to those who advertise; I hate to say but that is a fact of business.
I must have missed a comment, cause what you have typed has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ARTICLE!!!!!!!!
Being able to dive in those beautiful waters of Palau would be great.A visually awesome place for sure.
I love it how Jeff said his favorite challenge was the final one in Palau. I LOVED that one too, Ian was so awesome.. someone please arrange for him to get back on the show!!!
It’s a tough call for me.I loved Thailand,it was so beautiful.Africa made me want to go on a safari(someday,maybe).Marquesas had that amazing waterfall.Australian Outback had an awesome tribal council location.Those are some of my faves.
