Rescued Chilean miner Edison Pena performed “Summer Nights” with Olivia Newton-John in a concert in Santiago last night. Is there nothing this dude can’t do? He survived a subterranean hell, he ran the New York Marathon, and he sang “Suspicious Minds” on Letterman. And now this! Way to be, Edison Pena.

He can do whatever the frick he wants. He’s living his life to the fullest and taking advantage of the opportunities that are being given to him to do so. Stop being jealous and get of your couch and go so something too.
I do not believe Mr. Pena is a fame seeker , I believe , however , he is being exploited .

But that’s just it! WHY should I be respectful? I’m sorry he was trapped in a mine, but he was rescued. It doesn’t mean I want to see him running marathons, and singing duets with Olivia Newton John. Yes, he should be overjoyed to be alive. But he should keep it to himself. I don’t want to watch it.
Don’t watch then….The dude didn’t ask to come to the NYC Marathon. He didn’t ask to sing with Olivia Newton-John. He was invited to do these things and he accepted. And he came to my city and charmed everyone he met. I hope he keeps getting opportunities and keeps taking advantage of them. I love him and I pray he stays well and safe.
Yeah, sorry Bebe. I think you’ll have a hard time finding anyone who resents this man for accepting these amazing invitations to do such fun stuff after what he went through. I don’t know your nationality, but I’m American – land of the ultimate media whores – and I love watching this guy take the pop culture world by the balls and enjoying himself. Wait, that sounded kind of weird. Let’s just say I’m happy for him and leave it at that.

Negative much Bebe? So you don’t want to watch him run a marathon or sing with Olivia. Simple solution…Don’t! As for your demand that he “keep it to himself”, your sense of entitlement at advising total strangers on how to live their lives, is underwhelming. Sounds like someone needs to get a life!
The bottom line is, the guy can sing. He can more than pull off this number. I say bravo to him! Our job is to just shut up and enjoy the concert.
