I’m so accustomed to seeing Taylor Momsen as a teen angst-ridden, raccoon-eyed actress, that I admittedly have forgotten that she was an incredibly cute little kid. In the days before Little J started scheming against Blair & Co., on Gossip Girl, little Momsen starred in commercials, including this highly adorable Shake ‘N Bake ad. So before tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl, enjoy this video of Momsen, in which the scariest thing in the video isn’t seeing a 17-year-old girl in lingerie, but rather the freakishly unnatural sound of chicken crunching as it’s first bitten into.
Before you can ask yourself how this little moppet hocking Shake ‘N Bake transformed into this generation’s bleach blond Elvira, Momsen recently spoke out against her parents, saying that they robbed her of her childhood. (Her parents signed her up with Ford modeling agency at age two — she’s three in this commercial — and since then, “I didn’t have friends. I was working constantly, and I didn’t have a life,” Momsen said.)
What do you think about little Taylor Momsen, PopWatchers? Does anyone else remember this commercial?

She was in the Underdog movie. I didn’t recognize her when she hit Gossip Girl a year later. I wish her the best but fear the worst.
How dare you insult Elvira by comparing Taylor Momsen to her!!!
THIS! Elvira is AWESOME.
I actually remember this commercial, and I think I’ll choose to remember her as this cute little girl rather than the enormous pain in the arse she’s turning into.
If she truly resents what her parents did, why doesn’t she QUIT show usiness and recalim her life?
What a lying little…actress.
make that “business” and “reclaim”
DERRRP, make that a who gives a F. What is this, english class? People mistype on computers all the time and comments don’t have a spell chekc so lighten up.
Some people dislike making mistakes and if they’re unable to edit a post, they correct themselves in a reply. Some people are perfectly comfortable with typos, as this is “just the internet”. While I agree that it’s poor form to correct another commenter’s spelling, it’s also poor form to criticize another commenter simply for caring about what they have posted.
If you generally wish not to be criticized, perhaps you should refrain from criticizing others.
Acting is all she knows how to do. If she learned to love it but has regrets about her life, she is allowed those feelings.
Don’t forget she was Cindy Lou Who as well! Totally adorable in that film.
She was! As much as I can’t stand her, if she truly feels that her parents pushed her into show business then I do feel a little bad for her. But I simultaneously am irritated by her.
You have GOT to be sh*tting.
Yep, that’s where I first saw her, and she was pretty good.
Oh, please……
She cries about how her parents “stole her childhood”, but she’s still in show business.
You can’t have it both ways girlie. Either enjoy your fame and stop yer whining (and THANK your parents while you’re at it)… or you can quit. There are tons of aspiring actresses waiting to take your spot.
I recently saw her on the cover of “Revolver” magazine, looking like a raccoon-eyed, gun-toting skank. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere, I suppose.
Who cares about Taylor Momsen!?!? I want some SHAKE N BAKE!!!!
This is probably a highly unpopular opinion but damn, I really like her band (The Pretty Reckless).
Yeah, she makes stupid comments, but she’s 17. I sure as hell was a moron at 17 too and I didn’t grow up with stage parents. I say who cares, let her be who she wants to be.
taylor rocks! her band rocks..and I like her hot 17-year self in lingerie!!! saw the Pretty reckless in NYC and they kill! kill! kill!
she’s kind of obnoxious, but i can see where she’s coming from. her parents DID push her into the business, and in one paparazzi video i’ve seen of her, her mom was getting mad because the paps were more interested in alexa chung, who was also in the area. i mean, what kind of mother WANTS her teenage daughter to be hounded? it was strange…
