San Diego news team pulls a Brick Tamland

So I turn on the 11 o’clock morning news in San Diego a few weeks back, and boom went the dynamite. Well, no, I didn’t. Either way, the entire KGTV-10 news team contributed to an on-air meltdown that would’ve left Ron Burgundy himself crying in a glass case of emotion. Here’s today’s top story:

No, the female anchor’s name is not Wednesday, The 12th of September. But this is a magical cluster-eff where the writers at Saturday Night Live must simply put down their pens, give a slow deliberate clap, and say, Bravo. Great Odin’s raven, that was awkward.

I don’t think anything in the video beats that opening look of shock from the crewmember/weather reporter. Sweet mother of mary I am crying with laughter just thinking about it.

I wish the video was longer and they kept messing up. I guess I have a movie to rent to make up for the shortness of this hilarious video.

This is NOT from a few weeks ago…I live in San Diego and used to work at KGTV. Lisa Lake has not worked at the station in over a year. Most likely this clip is from a year or two ago when they switched over to High Definition programing and had yet to work out a few kinks. They started using robotic cameras and a whole new control room set up and software. This is not to say its not funny, or to excuse the mistakes, but jeeze, get your facts straight!

Spoken like a true dork who wants to feel like they are important because they know the inside story.

      • @Jane

Spoken like a true idiot who feels better living in ignorance? I’m not really sure how “knowing the facts” makes one a dork or self-important?

      • @Jane

Opps, I should have used periods, not question marks. I guess correcting this makes me a “true dork” though, because I feel “important” by knowing grammar.

ya, i think he was just making a joke. he didn’t actually see this live; hence the “well no, i didn’t” part. =)

I’m confused; how could this have been on a few weeks ago, when Lisa Lake is not on Channel 10? Also, Meredith Viera was on The View as a guest in 2007, and Jon Stewart has not been announced, from what I’ve seen, as host for the 2011 Academy Awards, and was last host in 2008.

This was on Huffington Post in the media section; I don’t understand why it’s being shown if it’s from 2007.

Why is this even on EW.com….stupid

  • Jacob

As a San Diegan, this makes me smile.

  • Jed

    Typical Arianna Huffington BS!

    A whale’s vagina.

  • Jamie

    Awesome.

Wait, so you turned this news story on “a few weeks ago”, and the crawler at the bottom told you Jon Stewart would be hosting the 2011 Academy Awards? Well, then hats off to you, sir, you’re the first to break this story! The rest of the world is still waiting to see who will host.

Honestly, what is happening to ew.com? For a long time the grammar and spelling has been going downhill. Now you are in such a hurry to pump out on-line content that your “stories” are not even true. Or not even your own, it’s just all content stolen from other web sites.

let’s hear it for Murphy’s Law!

  • ashy elbowz

So you “turned on the news a few weeks back” and saw that, huh? Honestly, I know it’s a stupid story, but shouldn’t you be fired for lying?

    • Katja

Erm, I rather thought he was making a joke so that he could say “boom goes the dynamite.”

  • Adam

I don’t get it. This isn’t that funny – there are way funnier news bloopers on youtube. And not even recent, why is this even on ew.com?

  • tracy bluth

Half expected him to say “I ate a big red candle” or “That squirrel can water ski!”
Stupid Paramount! Let us have our Anchorman sequel!

  • darclyte

    That was pretty wacky.
