Pint-size movie star Abigail Breslin’s name has been added to the list of actors in talks to join the cast of New Year’s Eve, the follow-up to ensemble rom-com Valentine’s Day, Variety reports. Much like its predecessor and other films like Love Actually and He’s Just Not That Into You, the film will feature intertwining stories that, this time around, focus on romance in New York City on New Year’s Eve.
Being the cute, precocious 14-year-old that Breslin is, I’m envisioning either a classroom romance or a more Sleepless in Seattle route, where she plays a girl on a mission to get her single dad and his crush together in Times Square. Cue inevitable kiss timed to ball drop.
Other names floating around the rumored cast list include Reese Witherspoon, Zac Efron, Justin Bieber and Glee star Lea Michele.
What do you guys think about the casting? Are you excited by the major star power?

Like the first one wasn’t bad enough.
There’s no way it could be any worse.
The only place to go is up.
Optimist.
BIEBZ
From the list of rumored people attached the script, it shows how this film, even more so then the other two is not even about having a good script. It’s about having names and making money.
Well said. The first one was also about having names to make money.
So, “Valentine’s Day” alone wasn’t torturous enough? Ugh. Do not want!
I know it is cheesy, but looking forward to it.
Everyone should just rent “200 Cigarettes” and call it a day. That will forever and always be the only good New Years Eve movie.
Valentine’s Day is one of the worst movies of ALL TIME. Why would they ever think a spin-off would be a good idea?
Valentine’s Day had nothing too wrong with it, but there was nothing fun about it either. It felt like a chamber piece/TV special. I wish romantic comedies could be as wonderfully scripted as the recent (500) Days of Summer.
I like Abigail Breslin, and as much as the first one was shallow and kind of silly, it was entertaining and less stereotypical than I expected. I’d look forward to a sequel. Not sure how I feel about Justin Bieber being cast…but those other names sound pretty good (especially Lea Michele!)
Yay for Reese, Zac, and Leah! Not so much for little Bieber
Major Star Power? Are you freaking kidding? Zac Efron, Justin Bieber and Lea Michele?
Since it’s gonna be rotten, it’s good that they are choosing mostly untalented people.
Im a fan of Abigail Breslin and her work!! and I don’t mind Reese Witherspoon, Zac Efron and Glee star Lea Michele. But Justin Bieber? I don’t think so. It’s not that I hate him or anything,I listen to his music but I don’t see him as an actor.

I’d love to see Abigail Breslin with Justin Bieber, it would be interesting and kinda cute to watch…they’re almost the same age too and doesn’t garry marshall like big stars on his casting. Keeping my fingers crossed, i mean the movie could suck like valentines day did, but at least the casting was fun
