'Hawaii Five-0' Bingo: Play it at home tonight!

Scientists estimate that something ridiculous happens on Hawaii Five-0 roughly every five milliseconds. Every episode features hot chicks, hot dudes, malevolent gangsters, car chases, and shots of the Hawaiian coastline that will make you weep with envy. Daniel Dae Kim rides around on a massive motorcycle, Alex O’Loughlin executes some sort of incredible athletic feat of strength, Scott Caan snarks off, and Grace Park inevitably goes undercover in some sort of skimpy outfit. Lessons are learned. Family values are upheld in the most risqué manner possible.

And now, you can play along at home! Click forward for a look at the Utterly Unofficial Hawaii Five-0 Bingo Board. Be sure to mark it off whenever O’Loughlin shows some skin, Park goes surfing, awesome cars awesomely crash, or a really tasty-looking fish swims across the screen. (The surfing square is a free space, because someone will always be surfing in Hawaii.) You might already be a winner! READ FULL STORY »

Boo! Send us your pop culture Halloween costumes

Hey, creepy readers. You know what this site needs more photos of? Jon Hamm. YOU! As usual, EW will be running a gallery of our readers’ best pop culture Halloween costumes. (Witness: 2009′s, 2008′s. Ooh, maybe you should go as Harrison Ford in Witness.) To achieve eternal fame — and the chance to win a DVD set of spooky movies (Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist Extended Director’s Cut, Pan’s Labyrinth Special Edition, The Shining, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Collector’s Edition, courtesy of Warner Home Video) — upload your pic to Entertainment Weekly’s Facebook page. Just “attach” the photo to our wall and your image will appear in the Just Fans section. (You’ll have to “like” us first. Time to make this co-dependent relationship official.) Make sure to tell us your name, location, and what you’re supposed to be (even if you think it’s obvious … it’s not always obvious).

We’ll be posting a reminder later in the month, but start rummaging through the dusty files of your hard drive now. No thumbnails, please. Show some class.

'Scream 4' trailer: I scream, you scream, everyone in the cast screams

The Scream 4 trailer that debuted at the Scream Awards was appropriately scream-filled. (Watch it below courtesy of an attendee.) But was it actually scary? For me, the most chilling scene from any of the Scream movies is still the franchise opener of Drew Barrymore on the telephone, when she’s unable to yell out to her parents as they come home. That’s what horrifying — not her mother screaming when she finally sees her daughter hanging from a tree, stabbed multiple times. Building that kind of stomach-turning suspense takes time that a trailer (at least one debuting at the Scream Awards) won’t allow. But that’s the kind of clip I can’t wait to see. During daylight hours. Which is when I’ve seen all the Scream films.

For more on Scream 4, check out EW’s Reunions issue, on stands now. As director Wes Craven says promisingly, “The first [Scream] was very much observing where horror had been for the last 10 to 20 years. And this is very much looking at where horror has been for the last 10 years. There’s always somebody trying to figure out what the rules are to keep from getting killed.”

'The Hobbit' in 3-D: Good idea? Or terrible idea?

Peter-JacksonImage Credit: Fotonoticias/WireImage.comWe all knew that The Hobbit was going to be made eventually. Destiny (and the promise of money bins filled with box-office cash) demanded it. But the long-expected news that Peter Jackson will direct the Hobbit duology comes with a new wrinkle: The films will be shot in 3-D. This would be incredible news … if we had heard it nine months ago, when Avatar was still in theaters. But barely a year post-Na’vi, 3-D has been applied to seemingly every new blockbuster film with incredibly mixed results. So it’s worth asking: Will 3-D ruin The Hobbit for you?

Since the movies will actually be shot in the 3-D format, they’re already one step up from the mediocre post-production conversions seen in Clash of the Titans, Alice in Wonderland, and Piranha 3D. Also, Peter Jackson is a brilliant filmmaker. (Sure, sure, Lovely Bones, but nobody’s perfect.) And Jackson’s Middle-Earth is such a lush, rich onscreen universe. You could argue that this is exactly the sort of film 3-D was created for.

You could also argue that 3-D was created for one thing: a justification for increased ticket prices. Speaking as someone who just paid $15 for one ticket to Jackass 3D, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be willing to fork over huge wads of cash in return for murky visuals and a migraine headache. I’m still excited about upcoming 3-D bonanzas like Tron Legacy, but am I the only one who’s actually more excited about the next Harry Potter now that it’s back in old-fashioned 2-D? Vote and be counted, after the jump. READ FULL STORY »

'Lost' finale: Damon and Carlton are glad everyone (finally) loves it. Are you?

lost-the-end-toutImage Credit: Mario Perez/ABCDamon Lindelof and Cartlon Cuse are glad that you’re finally over hating the Lost finale. “Strangely, what happened over the last couple months, is that every single person loves it. It seems like that’s actually been a change,” Cuse said on the red carpet for the Spike Scream Awards over the weekend. (There was a big tribute to Lost during the ceremony, although it did not win best TV show.)

“The finale is like a relationship,” Lindelof said. “When it ends at first, you only remember why it ended. But as time goes on, you focus on why you were in it the first place. I think that is what is starting to happen now.” READ FULL STORY »

'True Blood' season 4: Who, besides Kristin Bauer, wants Eric to...

trueblood-ericImage Credit: John P. Johnson/HBOSpoiler alert! If you haven’t read Charlaine Harris’ Dead to the World, the fourth book in the series upon which HBO’s True Blood is based, and don’t want to know what may await you in season 4, do not read this item. Those of you who have read the book or can’t help yourself, continue…

Fans have long wondered whether Alan Ball, who’s strayed far from the novels, would keep to the script when it comes to Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric losing his memory at the hands of witches and staying with Sookie in her home where he’s deemed safest. While the shower scene is definitely something we’d like to see played out (read it here by opening the document of Sookie/Eric moments and clicking on book 4 and page 67), it’s the possibility of watching Skarsgard play clueless that really excites us — and his costar Kristin Bauer (Pam). “The storyline with Eric losing his mind next year may happen, which I think would be very hysterical,” she told EW at the Scream Awards. “This is an extremely comedic actor. He is very funny. A lot of people didn’t see him in Zoolander and [don't] know how funny he can be. I would love for him to do that in his vampire character.”

In addition to giving Skarsgard a chance to flex his comedic muscles (as he did when Eric pretended to be human while rescuing Sookie from the Fellowship of the Sun), it would also work storywise. READ FULL STORY »

'The Fighter': Watch the insane trailer that played during 'Mad Men'

Viewers of last night’s Mad Men season finale were treated to some majestically bizarre sights — how cute, the Draper kids are singing in French! But one of the most unexpected delights about the evening came during a commercial break, when we were treated to an eye-catching trailer for The Fighter, the upcoming boxing film starring Mark Wahlberg. The movie’s been a passion project of Wahlberg’s for years, and will be the first feature directed by David O. Russell since 2004′s I Heart Huckabees. The trailer is, well, insane: lots of overlapping dialogue and raw-looking footage. How raw? Amy Freaking Adams punches somebody. READ FULL STORY »

Adam Lambert to bullied gay teens: 'It gets better, but it's up to you'

Adam Lambert is the latest celebrity to film a video for Dan Savage’s It Gets Better Project, which supports gay youths and anyone who’s ever felt like he or she didn’t fit in. Lambert begins with that simple message, “It gets better,” but admits being different is always going to be a challenge. “There’s always gonna be people that are scared of it. But at the end of the day, if you give those bullies and those people that are so ignorant and fearful of your lifestyle, if you give them the power to affect you, you’re letting them win and they don’t deserve that,” he says. “What you’re doing by being who you are is you’re keeping it real and you’re being really brave. I believe in you, I think it’s great. There are a ton of us out here in this world that are just like you that believe in you.”

Lambert admits that he still feels bullied when he reads the comments section of any article written about him. “I’m singled out, and it’s all ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ even though there’s so much more to me than just who I choose to sleep with…. You are so much more than your orientation. You know it, and I know it. So don’t let those bullies and those ignorant, fearful, small-minded people prove you wrong. You have to be strong, and you have to pay attention to the positive, and in doing so, you will push through, and you will rise up, and you will live your life to the fullest. It gets better, but it’s up to you.” Watch the video below. Parents wondering what they should be saying to their bullied child, start here. READ FULL STORY »

Is Jon Hamm the next George Clooney or the next Tom Selleck?

Mad-Men-Don-DraperImage Credit: Frank Ockenfels 3/AMCIt’s been a rough year for Don Draper, but as the curtains closed on the fourth season of Mad Men last night, the sultan of suave was basking in the glow of his surprise engagement. Surely the good vibes won’t last, as season 5 will tackle that decision’s collateral damage, but Jon Hamm’s own prospects couldn’t be brighter. The handsome actor — who some say was the model for Prince Eric in Disney’s The Little Mermaid — is in great demand. He has a supporting role in a hit-movie (The Town), he’s a comic treat whenever he visits Rockefeller Center — faux (30 Rock) or real (Saturday Night Live) — and he’s on fans’ short list for seemingly every rock-jawed superhero movie. He’s on the verge. So I can’t help but ask the question: Will he become George Clooney or Tom Selleck? Bruce Willis or Ted Danson? READ FULL STORY »
