Ivanka Trump blogs 'The Apprentice': Episode 6

Ivanka-TrumpImage Credit: Virginia Sherwood/NBCHi Apprentice Fans! It was great to be back in the boardroom this week – this time with my younger brother, Eric. Eric is an accomplished, strong businessman and philanthropist, and everyone at The Trump Organization values his opinions tremendously. I am sure that you felt the same after watching him this week!

A Perfect Fit
After a fantastic performance last week, Stephanie had the opportunity to meet with Michael Rupp, the CEO of Rockport. Stephanie was incredibly impressed with Michael and was excited to meet with him, mentioning how polished and professional he was. In their time together, Michael offered Stephanie the opportunity to participate in one of Adidas Group’s advanced management programs – a great break for her and a perfect fit for her future employment aspirations. Way to go, Stephanie!

Hail to the Pedi-Cab
To introduce the task, my father pointed out a Grayline bus with his name on it, which we inaugurated this year, with Trump Tower being part of their New York City tour. READ FULL STORY »

Did Zach Galifianakis kill Mel Gibson's cameo in 'Hangover 2'?

Galifianakis-gibson-hangoverImage Credit: Paul Froggatt/PR Photos; Pixplanete/PR PhotosHe may usually sit Between Two Ferns, but Hangover star Zach Galifianakis is suddenly finding himself squatting in the middle of controversy. Some are wondering if the actor’s recently voiced dissatisfaction with Hangover 2‘s production led to Mel Gibson’s cameo being cut from the film. In a Comedy Death-Ray Radio podcast (scroll to 34:00 of Part 1) that was released on Oct. 15, Galifianakis lamented that, as an actor, “you don’t have a lot of control … I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But … I’m not making any leeway.” Combine that with Hangover director Todd Phillips’ announcement yesterday that Gibson would not cameo in the sequel since the idea “did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew,” and perhaps Galifianakis has more juice than he thought. The comic’s manager had no comment on the matter, nor did Phillips, nor Warner Bros., which is producing the film.

If Galifianakis is in the middle of this controversy, are you glad to see that someone had the backbone to voice an objection? How much would you now pay to see Gibson visit Galifianakis’ “Between Two Ferns” set?

'Lost' star Jeremy Davies to face off with Timothy Olyphant on 'Justified'

jeremy-davies-olyphant-justifiedImage Credit: Steve Granitz/WireImage; Sony/FXTruly, we would be happy hearing any casting news about FX’s Justified because it means we’re closer to seeing Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan Givens on our TVs again. (Season 2 premieres on FX in February. If you just need an Olyphant fix, watch last night’s episode of The Office, in which he guested and was appropriately ogled.) But this casting news makes us wish the calendar could skip a few pages. Lost’s Daniel Faraday, actor Jeremy Davies, has taken a recurring role as the deputy U.S. marshal’s new nemesis. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll play a high school rival of Raylan’s, Dickie Bennett, who is the smartest of three brothers whose weed-trafficking family has long been at war with the Givens clan. (Sounds familiar.) Dickie has spent time in jail and returns to Harlan. Per the trade, he walks with a limp that dates back to a brawl with Raylan on the baseball field when they were teens.

So much to look forward to: How will Raylan greet Dickie? READ FULL STORY »

'Glee' screens 'Rocky Horror' for diehards

Categories: Glee, Music, Television

Glee-Rocky-HorrorLast night at the Angelika Film Center in Manhattan, there was a sneak preview of Glee‘s “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” and being there reminded me of going to see the original Star Wars trilogy when it was rereleased in the ’90s: Some people took the experience extremely seriously, others seemed to be enthusiastic but nowhere near as obsessed as the die-hards, and more than one person was in gold undies. Lots and lots of gold undies.

More than anything, it was just fun to watch Glee with other fans — especially when I found out that I wasn’t the only one still rooting for Will and Emma. (Their number got the biggest round of cheers.) Rocky Horror‘s appeal is the communal experience of it: the shouting, the dancing, the ritualized throwing of toilet paper. You might as well do it up right.

Paula Abdul discusses her new show, the 'American Idol' judges, and whether she'll reunite with Simon on 'The X-Factor'

Paula-AbdulImage Credit: Tina Gill/PR PhotosFormer American Idol judge Paula Abdul was recently in NYC promoting her new dance competition show, Live to Dance, which will premiere on CBS this January. And — as luck would have it! — we got the chance to catch up with the “Straight Up” songstress. Abdul, of course, wanted to mostly keep the focus on the hundreds of sets of twinkle toes that were there to audition for the talent competition, but we managed to sneak in a few questions about American Idol and the upcoming X-Factor. Click on the video below to hear her thoughts on her new CBS dance show, as well as what she has to say about American Idol‘s new judging panel, if the show (without Simon!) can still be successful going forward, and whether she might reunite with Cowell on X-Factor‘s judging panel next fall.

EW's Reunions issue: Which TV cast is on your wish list?

TV-REUNIONSIf you’ve picked up the Reunions issue of Entertainment Weekly, you know that in honor of the magazine’s 20th anniversary, we’ve reunited cast members from TV classics including The West Wing, Will & Grace, Alias, Gilmore Girls, Married… With Children, Northern Exposure, Roots, and The Muppet Show. (See the links below.) If you could reunite a cast for a sitdown chat — whether it be two people or a group comparable to President Bartlet’s — who would you choose, and what would you ask?

Tops on my list: Sports Night. I’d like to know where those characters are today (and who they’re married to), and if Josh Charles (CBS’ The Good Wife) and Peter Krause (NBC’s Parenthood) ever made a bet on the Tuesday at 10 p.m. timeslot. Also, even though The Early Show reunited the FYI team in 2009, Murphy Brown. Candice Bergen said then that the network had really wanted Heather Locklear to play Murphy, so you know there are great battles to discuss. Maybe the press would finally get season 2 and beyond released on DVD. There’s nothing worse than rediscovering your love for an old show when the first season hits… and then not being able to see someone hook up with Scott Bakula.

Liam Neeson, January Jones, and Diane Kruger in 'Unknown' trailer: Watch it here

Categories: Movie Trailers, Movies

The trailer for the drama/mystery/thriller Unknown — starring Liam Neeson, January Jones, and Diane Kruger and from Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra — has hit the interwebs. Centering squarely around Neeson, Unknown is one of those movies (you know them!) where the main character gets into an accident, goes into a coma for a handful of days, and wakes up to find that no one knows who he is. In fact, someone else — in this particular case, Aidan Quinn — has assumed his identity of Dr. Martin Harris. Or was that ever actually his identity? Who’s crazy? Liam? Or Aidan? Or everyone? Or no one? Who’s sane? Who’s who?!? That’s kinda how you feel after watching this short, and rather thrilling, trailer. January Jones brings her disaffected wife thing, as Neeson’s (former?) wife, while Diane Kruger plays the cab driver that went over the edge with Neeson and mired him in the pickle he’s in. Check out the trailer for Unknown here:

Zach Galifianakis' awesomely awkward interview

Zach Galifianakis got the, well, Zach Galifianakis treatment from Texas radio and TV personality Gordon Keith. And Gordon Keith kinda rocked it. (He also killed in the “mistake me for BSG‘s Ron Moore” contest.) READ FULL STORY »

President Barack Obama joins 'It Gets Better' project with video supporting bullied gay teens

All hail the Chief, proud defender of gay teens. Yes, President Barack Obama has jumped on the anti-gay-bullying bandwagon by producing a heartfelt “It Gets Better” video, following in the footsteps of bold-faced names from Chaz Salvatore Bono and Ke$ha to Adam Lambert and Neil Patrick Harris. The Commander in Chief is far from the first politician to encourage targeted teens to seek solace in adults and know that things will improve — just this week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did her own version under the banner of “Tomorrow Will Be Better,” and of course, there’s the viral video of Fort Worth city council member Joel Burns giving his impassioned “It Gets Better” speech during a city council meeting.

Sitting in front of a presidential-looking background, Obama gets right to the point of his appearance: “We’ve got to dispel this myth that bullying is just a normal right of passage, that it’s some inevitable part of growing up. It’s not,” he iterates. “We have an obligation to ensure that our schools are safe for all of our kids.” He continues later: “What I want to say is this: You are not alone. You didn’t do anything wrong. You didn’t do anything to deserve being bullied.” Say what you will about Obama’s stances on the many civil rights issues for gays, the point of this video is to try to encourage young gays to stay alive. Even if it saves one teenager, that’s crucial and worthy. Watch President Obama’s plea here:

Who is the scariest big-screen Psycho Killer? What happens when the killers end up in a hot tub?

PSYCHO-KILLERS-ROUND-8Image Credit: Everett Collection (3)What shall we call the quarterfinals of our ultimate Psycho Killer bracket game? Crazy Eights? The Hate Eight? The Drawn-and-Quarterfinals? The Round of Eight Your Liver With Some Fava Beans and a Nice Chianti? Yes, yes, I know. I would surely deserve to be the first one killed in any of these scary movies. (I can picture it now: Blood spattered across my favorite sweater-vest. The horror.)

To our matchups, which are becoming more intense and full of possibility. Technically, the competitors aren’t fighting each other. That probably gives Norman Bates a prayer against the Gary Cooper of slashers — the strong and silent Michael Myers — but it is a shame because The Shining‘s Jack Torrance and Misery‘s Annie Wilkes is a throwdown I’d pay to see close-up. Methinks if Shelley Duvall’s Wendy had the mental imbalance of Kathy Bates’ character, Jack Nicholson wouldn’t have dared try to break into that bathroom with an axe. Moreover, if Bates’ favorite writer could only muster, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” I have a feeling Torrance might be lucky to only find himself in a wheelchair. [Note: Voters must choose either Torrance or Wilkes as scariest. Write-in votes for the hot-tub scene between Bates and Nicholson in About Schmidt will be discarded, though you are forgiven for asking.]

Vote quickly, while that image is still in your head. Just in case, the polls will stay open for 60 hours. To see our entire bracket of 32 baddies with previous results, click here. READ FULL STORY »
