“I don’t mind paying taxes, because I went to public school.”
Yeah, we get that. Oh you meant…
I was at both – there were WAY more people at the Beck rally. This one was more fun though.
I was at both too, and I am going to respectfully disagree with you. There were more people at this one, if you wandered around the perimeter and saw the thousands not in the designated areas. Not only that, but people were still streaming in from the metro when it was almost over.
Why would anyone think the “old folk” that were there were confused? We’re the ones that were protesting in the 60s and 70s – some of us even remember the McCarthy era – don’t want to see it happen again – and see the same political climate that led up to it in the 40s happening today. Get out and vote, people – don’t let them win due to default because we’re too busy or think someone else will do it.
I knew it would need much more from me to see those guys upfront… like being there by 5 AM. Considering I was not ready to do all that, I turned my TV on at 12:05 PM in Reston VA to note that just the Comedy Central channel was all black thanks to the ridiculously priced Comcast. (Yes, XFinity $39.99/month). Ended up watching it online. Am gonna cancel Comcast service today and ask for a prorated refund for y’day!! Lol. That should teach them a lesson!
Kind of dwarfs the 78-87k at Beck rally. If you use Beck’s counting methods, there were over 2.5 million at rally this week!
Well Colbert estimated 10 million to 1 Billion, so that’s got to be the number!
I was there, and it was a good time. As a Republican who considers herself very moderate, I didn’t feel left out at all; most of the signs were attacking idiots like Glenn Beck, and what the signs said was completely justified.
Everybody I ran into was really nice. We were all there for the same thing, and everyone was really polite and easy to talk to.
Now, I need to go Youtube the Rally, because I was too far away to hear (or really see) anything
So over 500,000 show up for a conservative rally which upholds traditional American values. About 100k show up for a communist rally on October 2nd.
And about 250,000 will show up for a rally which promotes itself to be about nothing…other than a free concert.
In less than 24 hours you folks who do not get it will be overwhelmed with a Conservative tidal wave the likes of which has not been seen since 1980 and 1994. Perhaps then you will wake up from your feelings of superiority and realize it is you who are in the minority. Probably not. that is the great thing about you liberals. You live in your own virtual reality!
AND ANOTHER THING…Has anyone else noticed that the liberal political satirists are all stand-up comedians whose career was going no where when they decided to become political satirists. I mean just look at the facts. Al Franken was and SNL writer and part time skit member. He played the slow gorilla keeper in Trading Places and then bombed as Stewart something or another. I just saw a B-Movie last night with Bill Maher that I did not even know existed. I never remember him doing anything meaningful as a stand-up, and then he became a “political satirist”. Finally this genius Jon Stewart. Again doing nothing (other than stealing the show Craig Kilborne created) when he bacame the Will Rogers of our time. Their humor is not original. It is like the school-yard bully who makes fun of other people for a cheap laugh and popularity. At least the bully writes his own material. You never see a really successful stand-up (Seinfeld, Chris Rock, the late great Richard Pryor) turning to political satire for their income. Why? Because they are original and truly funny. Think about it.
I was at both the Rally to Restore Sanity and Glenn Beck Rallies and the Glenn Beck one had more people. Stewart and Colbert were entertaining.
I took the bus to the rally. For my dispatch from a road weary rally-er go to redmountainblogger.blogspot.com
