The Sound of Music was the movie my future wife and I saw on our first date, just the two of us. This year we celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary.
I’m usually at work when Oprah comes on but I took off early to go home just to see this episode. I remember going to the theater to see this movie 45 years ago (I was 8) and I’ve loved it ever since. Everyone looked great!
Dear Lord! Julie Andrews looks so much better than most of the “children” especially the one who played the oldest daughter!
I wasn’t going to miss it for anything. I enjoyed it very much. And Julie has my heart forever.
The actual VonTrapp family moved to Vermont and still run their family business, The Trapp Family Lodge. They have recently begin brewing their own german style beers with hops grown on the property. It is a beautiful area and the beer is fantastic! Anyone who wants to know the real vonTrapps should definitely go!
It was terrific and very well done.
I never watch Oprah, but I thought the show was great.
I am from Brazil and I can assure you that Julie Andrews and The Sound of Music are some of our favorite things. The great, multi-talented Julie Andrews looks absolutely beautiful, classy and is a joy to watch – and a hoot. Badass Chris is such fun and the “kids” are great! And yes, this is the greatest cinematic family and Do Re Mi is such fun to sing or listen to. Bravo, Julie!!!
Why was this program of the Sound of Music advertised to be shown on October 29th and then was shown on October 28th? I sure missed it and called may station KESQ Palm Springs and the girl was rude, gave me no answer and hung up on me. Even this morning it was still on the computer that it was to be on Oprah today Oct. 29th. I would sure like to know why the mistake.
Forget it You don’t understand either.
oh man I loved Christopher Plummer as a child. For all the children who wanted JA to be their Mother I wanted CP to be my Father since my own Father left. Who didn’t love how he came back to life when the children sang? And what’s great about SOM is that it resonates more now then when I was little. The whole escaping from the Nazis thing was pretty heavy stuff and still is. I wish CP enjoyed his role in this iconic movie but i guess every bunch has to have a grouch!
oh and my favorite song is Edelweiss
Where was Rolf?
Found it on You Tube! Its in 3 parts with no commercials! It was great! Thanks for whoever posted it!
I would like to acquire a copy of the Reunion show. Would you let me know your costs, etc. Thanks.
Wonderful special!
