I am not familiar with Martin Freeman, but I am incredibly excited about Richard Armitage! He is not only easy on the eyes but is a fantastic actor! Not to mention the incredibly sexy voice…
I was so excited I had to start watching the North and South mini series tonight to I could see him!
Is Hugo Weaving announced yet for Elrond, or is he waiting out the actor union thing..? Also, Liv Tyler could easily have a cameo in the first film, Arwen lived in Rivendell..? Also, Orlando could make a cameo in Part 1 as well, while not mentioned in The Hobbit, Legolas was the “Elvenking”‘s son and would have been pretty important in the Battle of the 5 Armies… I predict that the really juicy, breakout performances in the movie will come from the dozen or so roles still left unannounced…

It would be interesting if Jackson took a little creative license & included Legolas & Aragorn (since he’s actually 87) in some minor scene. They were alive @ the time of the Hobbit, though not in the book, so I’d love to see what they were up to back then. Kind of a nice nod to the characters & the actors who portrayed them.
