Deadline is reporting that CBS — home of the current sitcom $#*! My Dad Says — is turning to Twitter yet again for another potential comedy. This time, it’s the “Dear Girls Above Me” Twitter feed, about a fictional guy who writes missives to the two party girls who live upstairs. (Sample tweet: “Dear Girls Above Me, ‘He totally drunk friend requested me at 3 am! Should I reject it and sober add him tomorrow?’ Don’t, he’ll hangover ignore you.”) This appears to be a trend: In September, CBS greenlit another comedy based on the Twitter stream “Shh, Don’t Tell Steve”. I guess good sitcoms have been built on less. Are we excited about this? And what Twitter streams deserve the call next?

CBS greenlights another Twitter sitcom

noooo. i love his blog. cbs better not ruin it.
Sorry, person-who-names-himself-Larry-David-yet-thinks-Twitter-is-a-place-for-people-with-no-lives. But Twitter isn’t for people who have no lives. If you actually took the time to browse through the countless hilarious people there, you would understand that rather than insulting millions of people out of pure ignorance.
Being Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen’s kid probably doesn’t hurt when it comes to getting sitcom deals.
Totally, the article refers to him as fictional – but he is real, and there are videos to prove it
Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is CBS doing? $#!* My Dad say is awful!!! You think these will be any better?
No, in fact, it’s…AWESOME.
Did everyone drink their hater-ade today? Why so down on a show you have never seen before?
ugh. SMDS is awful. Why would they want to do something following the same formula?
The only reason shat my dad says is still alive is because it’s after the big bang. I bet if you switched it’s time slot no one would watch that show.
CBS is pathetic.
I wouldn’t call Charlie McDowell fictional, though I’m sure the party girls (mostly) are.
Okay his tweets are hilarious, but in order for CBS to make it acceptable for the FCC they will have to take out all of the best naughty bits.
It will be huge, but only if they get Shatner to star. I wonder if he’s up to the challenge of headlining two sitcoms?
I don’t even find this Twitter feed very funny to begin with.
This one actually sounds better than SMDS.
I think I am going to start a Twitter feed about my always-drunk neighbors and maybe I will get rich!
