It was a meeting of two great comedic minds last night as Glee funnywoman Jane Lynch showed up to chat with Jimmy Fallon on his late-night talk show. Nothing too earth-shattering happened, but the pair appeared to have such an easy elegance and nice rapport between them. They talked the Emmys, Saturday Night Live (in case you haven’t heard, Jane is hosting tomorrow night), and, of course, Glee. Here are the highlights from Lynch:
On opening the Emmys with Jimmy Fallon: “I was dancing toward Kate Gosselin, going, What is wrong with this world?”
On carrying her Emmy around the rest of the evening: “Yeah, I was shoving it in people’s faces!”
On her state of mind in the days leading up to her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live: “I have that perfect cocktail of nervousness and excitement.”
On her fabulous life: “I hung out with [Saturday Night Live musical guest] Bruno Mars today. It’s a good life.”
On Glee creator Ryan Murphy: “He calls me ‘lady.’ Lady is his favorite world. He uses it for everything. He’ll say, ‘Go do your lady business.’ Sometimes it’s with with reverence, sometimes it’s with contempt. It’s kind of like ‘dude.’”

How can anyone not love her?
This lady is amazing in everything she does. I still love her as the therapist on Two and a Half Men. Her comedic timing truly is genius. I don’t normally stay up to watch SNL but I will definitely try tomorrow night!
Love her so much! Can’t wait for Saturday, and that’s not something I can usually say!
I like her line about Gosselin, and it’s cool that she got to hang out with Bruno Mars. The best part about hanging out with Bruno Mars must be that you never have to worry being the one who brings the cocaine.
