The powers that be in Hollywod have chosen a director for their next Superman movie: Geek icon (and bankable mastermind) Zack Snyder .
It’s almost enough to make us excited that Warner Bros. is planning a reboot and not a sequel. Hey, $200 million and Brandon Routh ’s credible Christopher Reeve
impersonation wasn’t enough for Superman Returns . Snyder (who made 300 and
Watchmen ) beat out the likes of Darren Aronofsky , Ben Affleck , Matt Reeves and Tony Scott
to helm the Christopher Nolan -produced effort, which will be fast-tracked to start production next year. That’s because the studio may lose the copyright to the character if they don’t make it by 2011, the Hollywood Reporter says. They also report that this version will bring back General Zod, thanks to the David Goyer script in the works. That’s cool and all, but there’s nothing that Goyer can write that will top Terence Stamp shouting “ KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!” in Richard Donner ’s Superman II .
The fast tracking will also be to do with warners not wanting to be too far behind wwith their “homage” to Marvel studios’ creation of the Marvel movieverse. With Green Lantern on the way they need the other members of their Justice League out in cinemas fast so they can quickly follow Marvel’s Avengers movie, bult up expertly by putting the major players in their own movies, with their Justice League. It remains to be seen whether they can fit Nolan’s Batman into that film or if they will have to have no Bat or a “different” Batman in the JL film.

After Gwen Stacy broke up with Peter Parker (when he saw her talking to Flash Thompson), she had sex with Norman Osborne and gave birth to twins. The kids were raised in Europe and she went back to Parker, and she was then thrown off the bridge by the Green Goblin, and died after the sudden stop of Spider-Man’s web catch. If Uncle Ben will be in the next movie, will Norman Osborne be there as well?
