He’s dressed in drag because it’s a magazine that celebrates transgenders.
I think this is geared more towards transversals than transgenders-the difference is that being a transversal can mean you wear clothes of the opposite sex for sexual gratification, but do not necessarily have a different gender idenity than that you were born with.
