With its British release less than a month away, there’s finally a trailer online for the Simon Pegg-Andy Serkis laugher Burke & Hare. Directed by John Landis, the true story follows two ridiculous 19th-century grave robbers who make a killing selling cadavers to the Edinburgh medical school. The film also stars Isla Fisher, Tim Curry, Tom Wilkinson, and Christopher Lee. Is it hopelessly wrong that I laughed out loud when Pegg’s character wondered over his partner’s bravado: “I had confidence in a fart once and I shat all over myself.” Now that’s the way to deliver a line!
What say you PopWatchers? Do you demand a U.S. release? Do you find Simon Pegg just this side of sexy? Isn’t Andy Serkis sans CGI always a welcome sight?

Anybody else get the “Human Centipede” trailer before this trailer? Positively frightening. I was like “What the hell am I watching?”
lol yeah I got that too, freaked me the eff out… on a happier note this Simon Pegg movie looks like a hoot.
This is my kind of film. Isla Fisher looks amazing (as always) and super sexy with an accent.
I love Pegg, I love Serkis, and the woman who plays the wife, whose name I seem to have forgotten.
I agree – that was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen! I was trying to stop it and couldn’t stand to look at the image long enough to find the “stop” link. Yuck!!!
MUST…SEE…
Simon Pegg is Grand! Do you mean this movie doesn’t have a North American release?!
Whatever happened to the buddy/road movie that he was supposed to do with Nick Frost? Anybody know?
Never mind. Got off my lazy tuchus and checked IMDB.
I often manage to stay on my lazy tuchus when I check IMDB.
Simon Pegg is totally hot. Wait, did that say John Landis?
Love Simon Pegg and think this looks funny.
Having said that, knowing the real story about Burke and Hare made me wince a bit when watching this. They were basically body snatchers, selling cadavers to medical researchers, who started murdering people when the supply, uh, ran out. The police caught up to them and offered Hare immunity for turning on Burke. Burke was hanged and dissected at Edinburgh Medical College, and they still have his skeleton and item made from his skin.
Frankly it has more to do with a Jack the Ripper-esque horror film than a buddy comedy, but, whatever.
Although it is funny to me that John Landis is the director. Why is this not a horror movie, again?
If that’s the case, maybe there are some horror elements to the movie that are intentionally being hidden in the trailer. (Wouldn’t be the first time.)
So who does Simon Pegg play?
Wooooohoooo. And I’m going to meet Simon Pegg on the 22nd of this month, hell yeah!
get this movie a north america release now!!!
I hope they’ll give us a release date stateside soon!!! This looks like such a funny film!!
Daisy!!!!!!
It looks hilarious. I’d love to see it.
of course like your web-site however you have to test the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the reality nevertheless I’ll certainly come again again.
