Image Credit: Kevin Mazur/WireImage.comUp to now, Justin Bieber has been a sweet, smiling bearer of good cheer — not to mention catchy hooks — in the pop universe. But the 16-year-old star might just be getting ready to show off his mischievous side in a revival of MTV’s Punk’d.
According to Deadline, Bieber is in final negotiations to host a reboot of the celeb-pranking reality show created by Ashton Kutcher, who will exec produce this new version. (A source close to the production confirms to EW that the Biebs will be “involved” with a reboot but would not say whether he’ll actually be hosting.) That means a Twitter team-up of Bieber (the site’s No. 4 most-followed user) and Kutcher (No. 3); something tells us the site’s birdie mascot is already fluffing its feathers in anticipation.
We’re not entirely sure whether or not Bieber’s fanbase would be on board for a series that shows off the darker side of their tween idol. (Remember, Punk’d is the show that made Justin Timberlake cry and nearly gave heart attacks to the likes of Beyoncé, Mandy Moore, and Zac Efron.) Kutcher pulled it off with frat-guy charm, but we haven’t seen that part of Bieber yet. Is it possible the “Somebody to Love” singer has just been looking for somebody to punk all along?

Punk’d isn’t a show I’d watch whether the host was Beiber, the Beaver or Bozo the Clown.
But I’m much less inclined to watch it if there is a kid (and I say that literally) “hosting” it. I don’t think that kind of show with that kind of host sends the kind of message we want our kids hearing.

hell no i would not watch.justin bieber is only like 12 how the hell can he do that. ashton kutcher is alot better but when justin bieber hosts it it will get bad ratings. the only ppl that will watch will be other 12 year old little girls who like justin. so no i would not watch if justin takes over.

I abhor J. Bieber. As well as T. Swift. I see or hear either one of them & change the channel immediately, be it TV or radio. MTV should leave that show the way it was (with A. Kutcher as host) & maybe try to help everyone remember what MTV is really supposed to be about, like it was when it 1st appeared on that little box in everyone’s homes in 1981. Not what it’s become, which is becoming nauseous, like when you pass an entire section of JERSEY SHORE Halloween costumes at the local store.
How and why can you lump Taylor Swift in with Justin Bieber, if I may ask? She seems like a well-established, popular, and extremely talented artist… not to mention she’s a tad bit older! I can’t say I’m an expert on either, so enlighten me.
