Image Credit: Virginia Sherwood/NBCThe Apprentice is getting fired by TV viewers, but billionaire Donald Trump already has his next gig in mind: President of the United States of America. Trump told Fox News today that he’s “thinking about” a run for the Republican nomination in the 2012 presidential race. “I’ve been asked for years to do it, and I had no interest,” said Trump, who insisted that the announcement is no joke. “I’m totally being serious because I can’t stand what’s happening to the country. First time I am being serious about it.”
When asked for his reasons, the real estate mogul-turned-reality TV personality spoke passionately about business relations between the U.S. and China, saying that the Asian nation is poised to crush the U.S. in the world economy. He also said he’s prepared for the modest salary of Commander in Chief — mere pennies compared to his earnings as the CEO of the Trump Organization. “It’s a big pay cut, that’s true,” he admitted.
Of course, we’ve got a few questions that the Fox team didn’t throw at Trump. Would he relocate the Oval Office to Trump Towers? Would he run with or against fellow Republican reality TV vet Sarah Palin? Would Ivanka get a cabinet post? And would he turn his term into a slick reality series, complete with a live results show for all legislation?
What do you think of a Trump 2012 campaign, PopWatchers? And what else would you want to ask The Donald about his plans?

If this happens I move to Canada.
Goodbye!
Nancy, you have the right attitude…..lol Don’t you worry, we have our problems with our clown , getting to be a total nazi prime minister, and the economy is not going as well as they lie….
Trump may not be to bad at least he understands that the USA is becoming a 2nd class country high medical costs high home losses unemployment and a armed force that is to costly China is lending the USA more credit to buy oil from the countries the armed forces are fighting. U need the red neck
I think Trump may just be the man to run the country. I would give him a shot at it.
BYE MOTH>ER FU>CKER
George For VP!
Um… yeah. Sure. OK. (Let’s get out of here)
Ha!
Oh Devil, no. If his best rebuttal to the whole Rosie O’Donnal Miss USA debacle thing was “Rosie’s fat,” then I worry about how he’ll handle Chavez and our dear Iranian neighbors.
Obama:
“And here, Mr trump, will be your future presidential office. Please feel free to test The Chair…”
Trump:
“Will do…”
Obama:
“Comfy?”
Trump:
“You’re fired”
Obama:
“………”
OMG my dream to hear this said
Congress…You’re fired!
After the incredibly successful presidential careers of Steve Forbes and Ross Perot, why wouldn’t a billionaire want to throw his hat in the ring?
If this happens, I am going to China and will never look back.
take me with you……please.
The Republicans can have him. Lotsa luck, Trump. He and Palin can have the 2012 GOP ticket. I’m hoping all the haters will vote for them, and the rest of us can reelect Obama.
Yeah that Obama Hope and Change thing really seems to be working quite well so far now doesn’t it? Give me a break!
Actually I have 3 lucrative job offers on the table right now. So it’s working out really well for me. I LOVE this president!
Actually CJ, I hate to burst your bubble but Obama being President probably doesn’t have too much to do with you having 3 job offers. Plus, you’re just one person with job offers. The country as a whole is suffering much more than most politicians (our president included) realize or even care to know to be honest! Obama has just proven that he is going to push his agenda through Congress and down the throats of the American people whether we like it or not. Not because it’s in our best interest…he’s just looking out for him and his buddies.
Scott, politics is not your piece of pie, so change the subject…
What Andy? Just because you don’t like my logical answer you say that politics isn’t my piece of pie? Seriously? I made an observation of the way things are in the economy right now which I believe is pretty obvious for most Americans. What did I say that was in error there? Anything? Most Americans are suffering more than politicians realize. Our President and Congress think the only way to fix the economy is to keep spending money that we don’t have. How stupid is that seriously? I understand that Bush had his faults too…but you can’t keep blaming Bush for Obama’s own stupidity!
really im pretty sure if we re-elect obama 2 a 2nd term, this country will be in worse condition, so i say Trump 110% i mean besides other then the fact we that trump is a buisness man who knows his stuff…but besides, what else do we have to lose, so like i said trump 110%(if he does run for sure)
Say what you want, I think he’s our only hope. He’s right about China. He’s right about infrastructure. He’s right about the Federal Reserve. He’s right about Afghanistan. He’s right about Congress. He’s right about foreign policy. We complain our presidents don’t know the value of a dollar. Who cares? I want my president to know the value of a billion dollars. Trump does. Clearly he’s an asshole, but I want an asshole president!
Trump would know foreign policy like no other president. He knows presidents, kings, prime ministers and dictators as a business man. Not a politician or a diplomat.
I don’t like the idea of President “Trump” but I think I’d like the reality of it.
Yeah right he’s angry with China by the way, who gave the idea to the Chinese?Of course greedy capitalists.
They gave them technology and invested in cheep labour. That’s why they are so economically powerful now.
He may be right on the situation, as many others are, but he is the Wrong person to handle it all. How many times has he been bankrupt? With the stress it will be for him HAIR Today GONE Tomorrow – which come to think about it, it’s not a Bad Thing!
Ben, thi kinda comment and attitude destroyed USA….
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! What the Republican party needs now more than ever is some sensible leadership… this would not be a move in the right direction.
And what is your reasoning behind the assumption that this wouldn’t be a move in the right direction??? I believe I would take an extremely successful businessman with some common sense over Obama or any other politician any day!
Ralph Nader wrote a book about how Warren Buffett, George Soros, Bloomberg and others work together to save the US. If he
omitted Trump it was only accidental I’m sure.
Couldn’t be any worse than what is in office now.Might actually be a big improvement!
This is what we need, a capitalist for a capitalistic country. Forget the politicians, it would be the old stuff we have now. We need and should turn a profit, not more losses! I say, go for it!!!!
Trump would run this country like a business and not give it away like politicians are doing. He would bring jobs back to the USA and not subsidize companies for shipping jobs to other countries
Why do you assume he would bring jobs back to the States, when Big Business sent them overseas in the first place, in order to pay reduced wages to workers and raise their own profit margins?
