What was Bristol Palin doing in an Alaska bar with Mark Ballas?

One of the curses of having a famous last name (and being a contestant on Dancing With the Stars) is that nothing you do goes unnoticed. That includes going to a bar in Alaska when you’re well under the legal drinking age. According to the Associated Press, 19-year-old Bristol Palin was spotted at a drinking establishment in downtown Anchorage last Friday where she had gone to see her on-air dancing partner Mark Ballas perform. Technically, Palin could only be there if she was accompanied by a parent, spouse, or legal guardian over 21. And now a state investigator is hot on the case to determine whether the headline-grabbing daughter of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin was there legally. The investigation will hinge on whether she was there to eat (legal) or enjoy the show with or without a cocktail (not legal). Yes, this is what it’s come to. The Alaska Dispatch reported yesterday that a state Alcohol and Control Board investigator visited the establishment, asking for copies of raw video shot at Ballas’ performance. The request was denied. Someone needs to call Woodward and Bernstein, stat!

    Good lord.

    • SLB

      No sh*t. Who cares.

  • Ray

It does not surprise me that she is taking after her money whore mother of hers. It must run in the family to feel above the law since (fix news) will defend them. Who is watching the kids like (mongo) while they are chasing down every dime there is left to pander.Don’t these bitches ever watch their kids?

    • SLB

She’s too busy being a “teen activist”.

    • Tom

Unlike Ray’s whore mother who was balled by so many guys, Ray doesn’t even know who his father is.

      Isn’t that right Ray.

I hope you get an inoperable tumor on the base of your spine Ray.

Maybe she was there to pick up. Someone may not be done rebelling against her horrorshow mother.

I work in a theater that is located inside a casino. When the acts bring their families through, there are very strict rules about underage family members in the building (i.e., casino security must escort them into and out of the casino). Backstage or in the theater are the only places they can legally occupy, because of gambling laws, which are in place for a reason. No one is above them.

Iknow, she lost a lot of weight after her son was born but,it looks as though she has put on a few extra pounds since then looking at these pictures.

I’m no fan of anything Palin, but if this was a normal teen, no one would mount an investigation into whether they were in a bar at some point in the past. What a waste of state resources.

I’m not a Palin-family fan, but seriously, this is sort of ridiculous. No one would have even noticed a problem if she wasn’t ‘famous’. In the grand scheme of life, this is totally unimportant and a waste of tax dollars.

      Ditto

That’s just it, people knew who she was and how old she is. Another thing her and her family should practice what they preach.

  • Lori

No normal teen would get pregnant say they are a teen activist and be on dwts either. You take the good, you take the bad.

  • eimee123

Looking to get boinked (again ) now by Ballas !!!!!!

  • Carrie

The answer is: to not care. The only people that give a flying fluck are the Palin-ragers. Put the shoe on the other political party and no one would give a rip. Kinda like boo-gate.

  • Spree

Uh, the “bar” in question even has a children’s menu. Seriously nothing to see here, folks. Move along, please.

About time we ditched the atiquated puritanical drinking laws in this country. At eighteen, we are old enough to vote or go and fight in Iraq or Afghanistan, but not old enough to have a cocktail ? The drinking age in Canada is 19 and for that matter most of the countries in Europe have laws requiring you to be 18. Some countries have no limits other than a parent being present.

  • Winston

How is this a story? Even if she was there “illegally” that’s not going to bring any legal consequences for Bristol. It’s the bar that would get cited/fined.

  • Lynwood Spinks

I’m a hard-core liberal Democrat, but why does there have to be so much nastiness in these comments? And I’m with SLB, Kiki, givemeabreak! & LibbyP – ditto!. But Carrie, do you seriously think that R Limbaugh, B O’Reilly, et al wouldn’t make a mountain out of this molehill if the shoe were on the Democrat side?

  • Jed

Who ARE you people???? UGLY! UGLY!
UGLY SCUM. Give the girl a break!
