Rachel Bilson signs onto Josh Schwartz-produced romantic comedy TV series

Rachel-BilsonHer character arc on How I Met Your Mother might have ended, but Rachel Bilson might be headed back to the small screen: Deadline announced today that the actress is re-teaming with her O.C. producer Josh Schwartz for an NBC rom-com pilot. Though details are scant at the moment, the series is reportedly titled Ghost Angeles and is about an L.A. woman (Bilson) who can see dead people.

In the meantime, Bilson is keeping herself quite the busy bee; she has signed on to the indie comedy BFF Baby an will star opposite Kate Bosworth and Krysten Ritter, who penned the script.

Ghost Angeles makes me ponder what other O.C. pairings might work. Perhaps a Benjamin McKenzie-Adam Brody buddy cop show? What about a Peter Gallagher-Mischa Barton melodrama?

What do you guys think? Does Ghost Angeles sound promising? How do you feel about the Bilson-Schwartz reunion?

Eh. I loved Summer, but Rachel Bilson hasn’t done anything that great since (“Ooh, she wears baggy clothes, that makes her a style icon!” doesn’t count). Her guest stints on Chuck and HIMYM weren’t that great.

Oh, and can we please start a petition for Adam Brody and/or Peter Gallagher to guest star on Southland?

I agree. I miss Adam Brody/Ben Mckenzie chemistry.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has already exhausted this subject. Move on.

So does this mean she’ll wash her hair?

So gorgeous that I would watch her in anything. + a supernatural show from the co-creator of Chuck! Trifecta!

I love that sees coming back to our screens, And that it’s with Josh, But a show about ghosts? Really?
I don’t think it will do well. The ghost/romantic/comedy thing has well and truly been played out.
I wish her luck though, I love Summer and The OC

I hope the title changes, and the show is semi-serialized (like Chuck). I couldn’t handle another some Ghost Whisperer thing.

  • Bozalini

The title is wack. I wouldn’t watch the show.

She’s been typecast as Summer. Starring in a Josh Schwartz comedy playing a similar ditsy, adorable character will typecast her even more.

sounds like the ghost whisperer/tru calling

  • Paige

Bilson and Schwartz already reunited on NBC’s Chuck. And yes I’m excited!

Ghost Angeles? Seriously? What a terrible title. If they don’t change the title, they will end up regretting it.
Although, I do like Rachel Bilson and I personally think she belongs on TV as opposed to movies.

I find it funny and rather apt that she can only get jobs via her old producer who’s married to her best friend. Or score a part in a movie her friend’s wrote.

I enjoyed Summer but Bilson was very over-rated. She doesnt have much range or acting chops and practically played Summer over and over again in everything I’ve seen her in. I really do not care to watch her in a new Ghost Whisperer.

Bilson IS overrated. A lot of her so called fame is of the tabloid kind; who she is/was dating, what she is wearing. She hasn’t gotten good notices for her acting since the OC ended and it seems that she hasn’t made an effort to improve herself as an actress. She’s been spending all her time shopping! As everyone’s pointed out, most of her jobs are handed to her through her connections- by the husband of her best friend, or the ex boyfriend, or the producer on her old show. She didn’t get them because she auditioned and people were impressed by her.

I didn’t know Bilson was friends with Krysten Ritter. Never saw that anywhere.

I really liked her role on Chuck and wished she could have been a regular or be a regular on another show. Glad it finally happened. I like watching her.

I have a feeling Schwartz is smart enough to give this story a unique twist.
