With millions of Americans out of work and the economy in the toilet, our congress should be spending every minute of their time solving this problem. I applaud Colbert for his testimony and while this is an issue of importance it should be taking a back seat to fixing the mess that congress and their Wall Street cronies have made. Good job Colbert for showing these self indulging idiots are doing.

So he can do this but Joaquin Phoenix is batty? Same darn thing.

    • thin

Not even close to the same thing.

      • It really isn’t.

        People saw Colbert coming.

Why would Congress even be associated with this idiot? It just make a joke of every hard working farmer in America? One more thing that makes our government shameful.

Colbert is awesome, his testimony was a very poignant satire…as well spoken as he was, and as intelligently as his point was delivered- to say that the whole Colbert congressional testimony was really inappropriate is a huge understatement.

haha I love how Colbert completely made a joke out of Congress and everything they do but of course, the congressmen and some of the reporters were too dumb to realize.

Gee, don’t you all remember the time Benny Hill spoke at Parliament? No?

This was a joke and supreme waste of time. Much like this guy’s show.

At least Benny Hill was funny.

    • Me!!

Did you say the same thing when Elmo testified before a committee following an invitation from a Republican circa 2002? Just curious…

      • William Carr

Well, OBVIOUSLY when Rep. Duke Cunningham invited Elmo to speak it was because of Elmo’s doctorate in music education !

Because a Republican wouldn’t invite an amateur to testify as a political stunt, or anything like that…

  • Me!!

    *obviously

Colbert’s Testimony- Absolutely Fabulous! As an American he has every right to appear before Congress to express his views in any character he likes. Just because his TV persona is a humorous, spot on, reflection of certain extreme politics, Congress was not amused??? What? Well as a voter and tax payer I’m not amused when our representatives cash their paychecks and show up to work stating they will not cooperate with the other side of the aisle on anything because they want all the power and majority their way, so nothing gets done or it doesn’t get done right or is set up to fail… That’s like me showing up for work and telling my boss I don’t like his views on anything regarding this job so I’m not do anything. Would I still be paid??????
