Elmo and Grover swung by GMA this morning to weigh in on the Katy-Perry-has-breasts controversy. “Elmo loves Miss Katy,” the beloved red monster said, and insisted that they’d have a “play date” again in the near future. Grover asked about his outfit being “too revealing,” but mostly, they just kinda made jokes. No wonder Liz Lemon and Carol love when Muppets present at awards shows.

Remember that Elmo’s (perpetually) only 3 years old. Most 3 yr olds can’t sign autographs.
This whole situation is ridiculous. I watched the clip at home last night, and saw nothing wrong with what she was wearing. My son heard the song and couldn’t stop dancing. I think this is a real miss for Sesame Street.

i don’t understand why the directors/producers/etc at sesame street would let her film in that outfit and then pull the spot later. if they had a problem with the top then why not ask her to change on shooting day?
If you actually listened to the interview, you would have heard them address that. The producer said that they wouldn’t have filmed anything they thought was inappropriate. They pulled it based on parents’ reactions, not because the showrunners thought it was inappropriate.
yeah, it’s always an idea to watch the clip before commenting. oh well, learned that one the hard way. lol!
I wish Grover got more face time. He’s one of my favorites. But Elmo has shown he can be hilarious (see Ricky Gervais & Elmo).

It is pretty funny how people complained about Katy Perry’s cleavage, yet the fact that Elmo walks around nude doesn’t bother them.

I think that it’s discusting that Elmo is running around with Katy Perry witout any clothes on!
On a serious note, for a woman with a large chest, the dress she is wearing shows very little.
