Image Credit: Kayla: Mathieu Young/The CWOn last night’s America’s Next Top Model‘s makeover episode, Tyra took Kayla’s perfectly lovely, curly blond locks and replaced them with the hair of Ronald McDonald (that is, when the clown was going through his Eight is Enough phase). The result? A hairdo that made her look astonishingly like a high-fashion Danny Cooksey, a.k.a. Salute Your Short‘s Budnick. (Or maybe I’ve just got ’90s on the brain.) Now, I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder — after all, our Top Model recapper, Margaret Lyons, liked the cut, saying Kayla, “got a Run Lola Run dye job and the grown-up version of Dora the Explorer’s haircut, but somehow looked awesome” — but I can’t help thinking the gorgeous Kayla deserved better than the loud, awful-waffle makeover.
Oh, Tyra, we hold you in our hearts. But when I think about this makeover, it makes me want to…give Kayla her old hair back. Whatever, she’ll rock it straight into the top 3. And it could always be worse.

What was worse was the blonde that went brunette & had her eyebrows dyed blond (you can’t see them)! And what is even more worse is the girl that had the gap between her two front teeth widened?!?!
I totally agree! I could not believe they were filing down someone’s teeth! I really hope the girl with the bleached eyebrows changed them back the minute she was cut. The look was horrible!
Tyra sure did change her tune about gap teeth. I remember a certain host telling ANTM winner Danielle that hers was a problem and filled hers in a bit.
I think this post sums up the problem with the ego trip Tyra has been on. I can forgive the AWFUL decision to bleach a girls eyebrows after you dye her hair brown but the teeth. The teeth?!?! They won’t go back! That’s a permanent change!
I agree completely! I hope she sends Tyra the bill for getting them fixed (or as fixed as capping them will get them). Grrrr!

I don’t think the color is horrible. It’s the cut. She looks like a middle-aged news anchor. She needs a much younger, edgier cut.

YES. Why does Tyra saddle her favorites with such limiting haircuts??? (case in point: Saleisha’s Dora ‘do.) Terrible, and definitely Budnickesque.
I think the color looks beautiful against her skin, it’s the cut that is the issue. The cut is horrendous.
