Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth to star in family comedy 'The Reasonable Bunch'

Ortega/PR Photos According to The Hollywood Reporter, Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth, and Thomas Haden Church have all been cast in the comedy The Reasonable Bunch, about messy exes and their splintered relatives getting into it at a family wedding. Supporting roles went to Martin Landau, Ellen Barkin, and Ellen Burstyn, who do seem like the type of family members you see hugging the margins — mini lamb chop in hand, lipstick on their teeth — at a wedding. Production is slated to begin this month in New York, with Sam Levinson, son of Barry, yes that Barry, at the helm.

PopWatchers, is Demi Moore funny? Is Ellen Barkin the more garish American equivalent of Helen Mirren when it comes to her vaguely scary, undeniable sex appeal? Are you all for stories of wacky family dysfunction, or do you have enough of that in your real life already?

Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but I don’t think there’s anything vaguely scary about Helen Mirren’s undeniable sex appeal…she’s just hot. (And, if anything, I’ve got Susan Sarandon as the American Helen Mirren in that department.)

Concur… Sarandon is the American Mirren. (I’d even wager that Mirren is the British Sarandon!)

I’d say Ellen Burstyn is closer to Mirren than Barkin.
Yes, Demi has the capacity to be funny in a terse, acerbic way. Since they’re all so chummy, I’d like to see a comedy with Demi, Ashton and Bruce Willis all together. Bruce was hilarious in the Whole Ten Yards, getting in touch with his feminine side and I think they’d rock a good script.

please don’t compare a timeless beauty like Helen Mirren to Ellen Barkin, thanks

Kate’s face used to be not scary

Production on this is already underway in Detroit (specifically downtown Rochester, MI).

So this has nothing to do with The Brady Bunch?

    • Mr. Holloway

I thought it was a milder take on “The Wild Bunch” myself.

I hope Kate plays someone emotionally wounded. She was so good playing that sort of character in Wonderland and The Girl In The Park.

Filming began last week in Rochester, Michigan.

Yeah, like my name. your wrong. Ellen Barkin is not a supporting role, she is literally the biggest character in the movie. She is #1 on the character list.
