'Buried' TV spot: Cutting a finger just not what it used to be

Maybe it’s because I read the report coming out of last night’s 127 Hours screening at the Toronto Film Festival about the audience yelping and bursting into applause when James Franco — starring as real-life outdoorsman Aron Ralston — finally amputated part of his own arm after it got stuck under a boulder, but watching Ryan Reynolds prepare to cut his finger in the new Buried TV spot didn’t shock me as much as I thought it would. Still disturbing, but not terrifying. Good thing the movie’s got that whole buried alive thing going for it. Watch below.
