Image Credit: Kevin Mazur/WireImage.com Did you get that heartwarming feeling that you’re about to start cheering for a comeback, even against your better judgment, when you saw Lindsay Lohan pop up in Chelsea Handler’s taped VMA opening? I’ll admit it: I did. There’s nothing like a Hollywood recovery story, and Linds took the first of those other 12 Steps — the steps toward pop cultural redemption — with her cameo. That is, she got to step in and save Handler’s opening from awkwardness — and when’s the last time Lohan actually got to save something? Maybe Handler tried to suck a little at the beginning just for this purpose? Is she that sneakily benevolent?
Lohan even got to take a self-aware jab at herself — a critical requirement for this particular kind of Step 1 — when she asked Handler why her ankle bracelet was going off. (“That just means my table’s ready at the Cheesecake Factory.”) Lindsay’s response? “Do you think anyone wants to work with a drunk? Take it from me, they don’t.”
What did you think, PopWatchers? Did you like Lindsay’s VMA appearance? Could this be the beginning of a beautiful comeback?
Sorry but a one minute cameo on the VMAs is not going to prove to me that she can still act or has cleaned up.

The fact that she goes there and acts like she did proves she has learned nothing and thinks her whole situation is a big joke. Which, in a way, she’s right (sadly).

Blah, let the judgmental comments begin. I understand she’s a mess, but ultimately she’s only really hurting herself – she’s the one who’ll be left with the consequences – so I don’t know why people treat her like she’s committing crimes against the state. The less people obsessively ate up gossip about her downward spiral, the less we’d hear about her.

Well, what she was arrested for was a pretty dangerous crime – when you get behind the wheel in a severely altered mental state, you’re risking the lives of everyone else onthe road.
The people who really need to stay away from her though are her family – she needs to fall off the face of the earth for a little while to figure out what SHE wants out of life, not what her mom or dad want.
There she goes again…making light of her situation, which is a prelude to relapse. Kinda like the e-harmony parody video she did a while back and then ended up in jail after that. oh well…it’s her life.
It was terrible! Between the horrible hair extentions and the GIANT lips I couldn’t even pay attention to what she was saying! She looks like she is in her forties!
She’s on the right track, I believe all of you can eat your comments. She still has talent and is gorgeous. It amazes me how she claws her way into everything, must have powerful friends or just her name sells I guess.

It’s hard to say what will happen from here. We haven’t seen her that happy in ages. She does need to prove herself more but this is at least a start. I don’t believe either of her parents are good for her so hopefully, if rumors are true, Larry Rudolph can revive her career like he did Britney’s.
