'Louie' finishes its first season on a high note

Last night’s final two episodes of Louie were as provocative, emotional, and downright filthy as the rest of the series. Read the full post.

does anybody know the song at the end of the last episode? the one about a bad night?

He is amazing. The show was funny, thoughtful, honest, and insightful. I am glad I was able to watch such an intelligent program. Thanks for a great 1st season!

I love how dark and edgy this show is! I can’t choose a favorite episode. I loved Lucky Louie on Showtime as well. So glad they got renewed for Season 2.

This is the best show I’ve seen in a long time. The season went by way too fast. I really liked the disjointedness, actually, because it allowed each separate topic to be explored very fully (like the ridiculously smart catholic school episode).

Best new comedy of the year.

    When is season 2???

I was thankful for his mother in the “God” episode. Obviously she wasn’t always horrible and uncaring. The season was probably disjointed because he had to make sure he got out as many of his good premesises as possible in case he wasn’t renewed. I couldn’t be more thankful the show was renewed. Also, kudos to the commenters today. I was cringing, expecting the usual “I hate it for no reason other than being contrary” type comments. Proof that Mr. C.K. has put together a brilliant program.

This show is the revelation of the year – shocking, moving and utterly original. The acting gems in each episode are sensational. For me, the episode which stood out was “God” but I liked them all.

Big props to FX. Sunny in Philly and Louie are funny, intelligent, unique shows. An impressive run of show development.

It would have been a perfect season except for the Jesus episode. I’m not sure what Louis was on when he wrote that but it doesn’t belong in a comedy series.

    • AIDSforbreakfast

The Jesus episode was actually very funny and true. If you’re saying it wasn’t funny because it went against your views than that isn’t right.

  • Zee

amazingly brilliant – more Pamela Adlon please! Very impressive show, cleverly written and brilliantly acted, without “seeing” the acting. Hope there’s more….

I’m a bit of a snob and don’t really watch TV. TV sucks, and I might watch an hour a week. But … Louie is awesome. If TV were more like this I’d be a couch potato. Can’t wait for season 2!

    it got renewed? awesome possum

  • Rob

Louis C.K. is a genius. I’m very impressed with this show and how well written it is. Hope it keeps going on!
