I think Martin Freeman would be a brilliant choice for the role of Bilbo, he not only looks Hobbit-like but his personality has just the right amount of sensitivity for the part. I think he would bring a warmth to the character that few of the other actor choices mentioned here wouldn’t. I also agree that he is a much lesser known actor and therefore this would make his role all the more believable.
I just can’t wait for The Hobbit to be released! As a massive LOTR’s fan, this will be THE film event of the future for me, all I can say is – BRING IT ON!
Martin better play Bilbo or I am going to be pissed. He is a perfect Bilbo and a great actor.If hes not Bilbo I probably will wait for it to come out on dvd before I see it.
