Image Credit: CBS AMERICA…IT’S DOWN TO THE FINAL 4
I’m not sure which house had more drama this week — the jury house or the Big Brother house?
We witnessed some serious fireworks at the jury house when Matt came clean and told Kathy, Brendon and Rachel that his wife isn’t really sick. I’m not sure why he decided to come clean at this time as he could have easily waited till after the show or even dropped that bomb during the finale. Whatever his reasoning, I haven’t seen that many jaws on the floor in some time. It almost seemed as if Matt was harboring some guilt for that lie and needed to put it all on the table.
What do you think? Was it a questionable strategy on Matt’s behalf or would you employ similar tactics during the game to advance further? Tell me below!
Ragan put up a valiant effort to manipulate votes from Lane and Britney this week, but in the end the loyalty of the “Brigade” was simply too strong. However, he seemed to be in fairly good spirits after the show considering he was just ousted. He departed the house still suspicious of an all-male alliance consisting of Lane, Enzo and Hayden — and he assumed his BFF Matt was also associated with them in some capacity.
Looking ahead — this is typically the point in the game when strategy switches from survival mode to collecting votes from the jury members. I’m not sure Lane is making the wisest decision by choosing to align himself with Britney en route to the finale. I know she supposedly doesn’t have many friends in the jury house, but someone like Britney could always garner those “perseverance” votes. Of the remaining four, she has clearly had to claw her way to this point in the game, while the three “Brigade” members have essentially relied on outnumbering their competition. If I’m in the jury house, I might admire that perseverance.
If Lane and Enzo make it to the final two, who do you think deserves it more? Tell me below. Both have played fairly conservative games, flying under the radar from day one.
At this point it’s hard to predict who has set themselves up best among the jury members to win their votes. It’s a toss up for me…
RANDOM THOUGHTS:
* The endless dance-a-thon that took place in the house courtesy of Pandora ‘s Box might be one of the most clever punishments Big Brother has ever devised. I call for that to be a permanent rule inside the house – whenever Houseguests hear music they are required to break into dance. Unless we have to watch Hayden dance.
* Kudos to Enzo for out lasting the Big Brother “costume curse” – and for finally winning a competition. Good timing.
* I know I’ve been predicting the imminent demise of the “Brigade,” but I must give credit where credit is due. They’ve advanced to the final two weeks of the game with only one casualty to date and those are numbers you simply can’t argue. They aligned early and stayed strong throughout.
* Is it just me or does it seem that the Houseguest’s final pleas during our LIVE eviction shows are growing increasingly warm and fuzzy? I’m not sure that I could muster up the phrase “I love all of you” as they’re ripping $500,000 from my pocket.
QUOTE OF THE SEASON:
* I selected this as the quote of the season (up to this point) as it so clearly reflects the personality of the person delivering the line.
* Enzo regarding his lifestyle in the house: “I only took three naps today.”
Just a reminder to everyone that our schedule is a little different next week – eviction show on Wednesday night (Final 3 will be revealed) and as always a LIVE show on Thursday, but no eviction. And for all you crazy “zingbot” fans out there…I was just told EW will have an interview with the infamous “Zingbot” during finale week. Stay tuned for that…till next week.

BB has allowed Enzo to cheat by eating while a Have Not and last week he was even allowed to not use his sock puppet while he talked. Why is BB allowing him to cheat? And Julie, you really should have addressed the issue after all the comments last week.
Oh my God, call the authorities!!!
so, you’re related to Enzo then? Do you also have an IQ of 4??
Saying you have a sick relative will Never get you to the final 2, b/c no one wants to lose to a sympathy vote. I think it was a horrible strategy.
i have to say that this was the worst season that theyve had, and its not like the seasons began to get worse and worse after season 7, its just that this season alone was the worst, one thing i do not like the most is that as the seasons progress it seems that the contestants are more of fans then potential great competitors, rachel, brendon, matt, britney,(and maybe regan) had to be the the only real competitors and personalities in tthe house and the problem was that because alot of the contestants were fans they took out the best players early(with the exception of rachel who, even though was a fierce competitor, made chioces on a personal level) but what i dislike the most is the fact that 3 men, created an alliance that they probably think is as strong as season six alliance or the Donatos but is actually as strong as the Mrs. Robinson(mike, kail, nick, zach) alliance in season 8, they think that just because they sat back and watched the greater forces in the house evict eachother, they are a powerful alliance and they are the opposite, the only time they had any power was once they were down to the final 5/6 and they had the votes and the only strategic move they made was getting rid of matt everything else was either fell into their lap or it was about keeping themselves off the block and floating another week, i cannot say that either enzo or lane deserve it, hayden has recently proved himself and will probably win it, but i dont see either of them winning the jury prize or making allstars
I really can’t stand Enzo, but, really….I wouldn’t call “eating while a Have Not” cheating. Not cheating in a way that impacts the game at all, anyway. I thought the way he pushed Ragan out of the way during the Veto competition was far worse (even then, though, I wouldn’t call that cheating either).
Several seasons ago, Jen was given a penalty vote (I think first it was a penalty nomination, then they changed it to a penalty vote because she was already on the block) when she ate a burger while she was on slop. She was penalized for CHEATING. Why not Enzo?
Eating while being a have not is cheating and it does impact the game. Enzo should be penalized for not following the rules. Isn’t that kind of the definition of cheating?
Enzo ate while a Have Not earlier in the season and was given a warning. Then, he not only did it again, but actually HID pizza in his Penguin suit to do it, and then later BRAGGED about doing it. Also, the clip in the HOH room where Enzo and his sock puppet both got blurred when he dropped an “F Bomb” (LOL BTW) he CLEARLY wasn’t working the sock puppet while talking but didn’t cause the whole house to become Have Nots. The guys has skirted the rules and gotten away with it.
Ashley, it’s been stated MANY times, both this season and in past seasons, that pickles are not forbidden to have-nots. They are considered a condiment, and may be eaten freely. And legally. Give it a rest.
Pickles?? Who said anything about pickles?? Are you having a separate conversation inside your own head? Enzo was seen twice eating pizza while a Have Not, he also ate cheese and candy. None of those things are pickles, and none are permitted while a HG is a Have Not.
If this issue really bothers you, I hope you’re taking the time to contact CBS/Alison Grodner, cause only they will be able to do something about it if enough people complain; otherwise you’re wasting your time by complaining in the comments sections of EW.com blogs like this.
I guess the BB crew was afraid no strike that SCARED to confront Enzo about breaking the rules.
I would never lie about the health of a family member, that’s just wrong, but would definitely lie about my profession, financial status, and age. The less financially well off you are the more likely you are to get the jury votes.
I wouldn’t lie about a family member’s health anyway because it is a stupid strategy. Like I heard Matt say in an interview, if he made it to the final two, then his wife would have gave him that extra kick to get votes. That being said, it would’ve been bad game play for the rest of the HGs to keep him for that reason. Besides, if I would have put something like that in people’s faces over and over again, it would be obvious that I was trying to use it for sympathy. So it’s just a bad move.
Although I didn’t see the entire episode, I did enjoy the sock puppet punishment. I also noticed that Enzo was rather lazy with his puppet while everybody else was more consistent with using their puppet whenever they spoke (at least based on what we were shown on air). If I’m in the jury house, I’m rooting for Britney. She may not be well liked, but she clearly has out-played and out-lasted all the other women and all the guys except for the core “Brigade” alliance.
Out-play and out-last…that’s Survivor, not BB! LOL
I was also wondering why Enzo didn’t get punishment for the whole house as he clearly didn’t use the sock puppet correctly…… Is there something I missed in the instructions??????
Enzo cheated on everything and has never been punished. Therefore he needs to go, no money, no nothing, any of the other three should win, THEY DIDN’T CHEAT!!!!!
ENZO is a cheat from day one – he should be ousted.
This has got to be the worst cast ever. I suggest next Season for CBS to put back in the Expect the Unexpected, change up the Competition Challanges so we can at least hopefully enojoy a Season if not it will be my last.
agreed!
How about a more diverse and entertaining group of houseguests, instead of a bunch of bonehead guys and a few bikini wearing girls? Showing different people from all walks of life trying to get along is better television than a bunch of kids picked from bars in L.A. who all want careers on TV..
I totally agree. This season has been so scripted and fake. Brendon and Rachel are no more of a couple than Lane and Britney.
I agree this season has been soo boring and predictable..Brittney and Ragan are two of the ugliset, mean spirted, spoiled, people I have ever seen on BB.I am ready for this crappy season to be over.
i definitely have to agree, i mean cbs better pull together maybe a fans vs favorites or another allstar season next year or they might lose viewers
Matt knew it was a despicable lie. He figured all was fair as gameplay. Problem is, he didn’t figure on other people finding the lie to be too horrible and manipulative. The lie didn’t help him at all. Just a stupid move. Wonder what Ragan will think?
The HOH competition last night was so unfair to Britney. I’m not a big fan of hers but when it is down to the final four, the game should be equal to all. With her fingers so much shorter than the two guys, I don’t see how she could possibly win (hence, dropping bulb after bulb). And granted, short of a burping or farting contest, Enzo is a non-entity in most anything, still, BB could at least do something that equals out all contestants.
I agree that Enzo is the laziest and he is breaking rules. BB where are you? Having lunch, going to the bathroom or did you just cut back on your staff?
it seems as if the staff checked out of this season early on. Maybe no one is behind on the controls.
Did anyone else notice… after someone questioned last week whether Julie was pregnant (which I also wondered), Julie left no doubt with her skin-tight outfit this week!
Hahahahaha!!! I was thinking she was preggers again too with all those matronly outfits she was wearing. I was glad to see she glammed it up this week. She’s too pretty (and rich) to dress so boring!
Thank you! I made the comment, nice to see I wasn’t the only one who thought it. And that was my thought too last night, not leaving anyone guessing this time. If I had her body, I would always be wearing skin tight clothes!
did anyone think for the first half of last night’s show there was something drastically wrong with Julie’s eyes? Especially her right eye (but left if we are looking at them). I think she now has a wandering eye or something…and had her hair covering that particular eye.
Or not.
Honestly, people, “cheating” at not using a sock puppet correctly? Move on.
Bad enough that those things had to stay on for 12 straight hours…
PJ, it’s not just the hand puppets. He’s cheated every step of the way. He was known as “Fridge Face” while he was a Have Not because he’d stick his whole face in the fridge looking for something, and he’d sneak food in his mouth. Then, he used chocolate milk to make a protein shake knowing full well he wasn’t supposed to. And he said, “What are they going to do? Go ahead. Let them effin send me to the jury house.” Did you not see him sneak food in his penguin suit and eat it when he thought BB wasn’t looking? Completely disrespectul of the rules of the game.
The Penguin suit.. don’t even get me started. He didn’t even wear it the right way and took it off as much as possible. He complained so much about having to wear the suit, that BB told him he didn’t have to have it on while in the pool or hot tub, or when he was sleeping. So he spent as much time in both those places to avoid the suit. With the unitard punishment, Jen, Kristen, and Lydia were told they couldn’t go swimming. They had to wear it 24/7 and they did it with pride.
Enzo thinks he’s above the rules. He should have been gone weeks ago had Big Brother give him the penalty nominations he SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED. But no.. the producers of the show rolled over and let him get away with it.
Alison Grodner and Rich Meehan have zero integrity when it comes to this little show they’ve got. They manipulate game play to the point of cheating. Coersion and scare tactics are used to get the houseguests to do what they want them to do and for what? For ratings. They need to bring this game back to its roots and completely revamp the entire show. They need a different format. They need a new “think tank team” who can bring vitality, excitement, and FAIRNESS back into the BB house.
I wouldn’t say that Enzo cheated in this situation. Really, it was Big Brother that cheated. The rules were clearly stated – if you don’t use the sock puppet, the whole house is on slop for the week. Enzo didn’t use the sock puppet the whole time, but Big Brother didn’t follow through.
What I don’t “get” is how people in this comments section (and on other message boards) say for everyone to just “get over it” and that it’s no big deal. It would be a big deal to me if I was competing for $500,000! It might not be so important in the scheme of things, but there’s too much money at stake for people to just “get over it”. Ya know?
I completely agree with you and Suzanne’s comment about about the integrity of the game being tossed aside simply for the sake of good tv.
Most boring season bar none!Too many people all the same age group. Enzo should have been penilized for all the times he broke rules and ate while being a have not. Any money he wins take off a $1000, for each time he cheated as penalty. Not sure if i’ll even bother to watch the last few episodes I really don’t want to know which of any of these people won the money doing BB this year.
This is the most boring season ever. The recycled typecasting of the houseguests, the chest thumping bragging in the diary room, the dim witted group of alpha males that take over every season – don’t get me started.
I can’t believe that Ragan is Still in the house! I would have got rid of that cry baby at the first!
Did you not watch the show – he was voted out!
Dana is drunk!
I really think we should be shown Jury the whole of this week. It’s far more entertaining
