I sure don’t get that Matt. First, he ruins his game by staying painfully loyal to the Brigade, and then he decides to grow a conscience in front of two of the most self-absorbed players in the history of Big Brother! I wasn’t really buying Rachel’s holier-than-thou act when Matt admitted that he lied about his “sick wife” in the jury house, but I don’t think think he deserved comments like “you’re the most horrible person I’ve ever met” and “you’re going to hell” simply for pulling a Johnny Fairplay. The prize is $500,000, people! What wouldn’t you do to win it? Cut the tool some slack, already. NOW, GET READY FOR A SPOILER ON THE JUMP!
I should come clean on Ragan: I’ve been a fan of the bow tie-wearing smarty pants pretty much since day one and was hoping he’d make it to the final three. Dang that he didn’t, but it sure was cute when he exclaimed “I get to meet Julie Chen!” when he was evicted on a 2-0 vote. (Trust me, buddy; it’s quite a thrill to be in the presence of the glittered one). His goodbye speech was charming (he dedicated it to his late dad!) and he even seemed to tolerate Haydum’s patronizing speech about being a role model to gays. Too bad Ragan’s good sense flew out the window as soon as he snuggled up to Matt in the house: Though he suspected the existence of the Brigade early on and could have fought harder to expose the secret alliance, he sealed his fate by making the boneheaded decision to protect Matt rather than look out for himself. With Matt finally gone, Ragan made a sound argument to Lame to keep him and Britney in the house, but it was too little, too late: Lame was staying true to Haydum and Enzo, no matter how hard the latter shoved Ragan during that ridiculous veto competition. Ooh, that last round was nasty!
It’s regrettable that Ragan still considers Matt to be an ”excellent human being;” I never heard anything coming out of Matt’s mouth that was worthy enough to earn such a lofty distinction, and I’m sure his little revelation about his wife won’t improve his status once Ragan enters the jury house. But oh, what a fun reunion it will be, if only because we’ll be treated to another one-sided takedown of Rachel by Ragan. For her sake, I hope she keeps her idiotic comments to herself.
Unfortunately, last night’s episode ended with a Christmas tree decorating challenge (what the hell?) that wasn’t resolved by 11:05 p.m. PT. I’m sure if I go to the trusty Jokers Updates, I can find out the winner, but I’ll leave that up to you guys to post (I encourage spoilers below. Just beware of testy, fellow BB fans!) So it’s time to open the floor to you: Should Lane have kept Ragan over Haydum? Are you beginning to think this is Enzo’s game to lose? How funny did Ragan look while eating his food with ladle? And what was Enzo making with foil at the top of the episode?

good. I hope he gets Britney out cuz she’s stupid. Last night she should have forced Lane to do the tiebreak between hayden and Ragan. It would have been a 50-50 chance to keep her ally, Ragan, in the house cuz she already knows that Enzo and Hayden will be gunning for her.

first I hated Ragan and am glad to see him go. but I wonder if Ragan had been say black instead of gay, if Hayden would have made such a condescending speech about how he was a role model to the black community? i think not, but you never know. Matt didn’t really seem to understand why everyone was so upset about his lie. I am interested to see Ragan’s reaction to finding out about the lie.

Matt’s lie positively pales when stood side by side with a comment Ragen made to Enzo, captured by camera # 4 at 1:43 p.m. on the 1st of September, and I quote, “I will do the opposite of operation red, I will take an AIDS infected needle and go to Africa and start stabbing babies with it”. Ragen has done what my husband has been unable to do throughout the course of our entire married life – he’s left me speechless.

I heard about that. He also said that Julie Chen is “obsessed” with little people and actually “owns” one. Apparently, HE is the one with the “little people” fixation as he also once allegedly said that he wished they had a little person who they could BBQ. If he truly said that about African babies, that is the single WORST comment EVER made by any BB HG…EVER. Wow.
No, darclyte, it still wouldn’t top Amber’s LEGITIMATE, ANTI-SEMITIC comment about Jews being money-hungry. Ragan was surely making a crude joke as that is his stand-up humor – I’m not defending it, but I DEFINITELY think it’s less blameworthy than legitimate hatred of the kind spewed by Amber.

@ Lynette Rice I remember back to the season of Evel Dick and how much you hated him and how mean he was and so on… so I find it very interesting that you like Ragan. Maybe you don’t watch the Feeds and only the biased edited show… because America has not seen all the vile hatred, misogony, jokes about battery and abortions and on and on it went with this favorite of yours. We have not seen his true colors on the edited show and neither was he called on any of his BS by Julie. I was really worried for him because he seems very sensitive and the backlash he will get by some will come as a shock to him. He deserves every minute of it however since he has been hateful to the core all summer long.

It really shouldn’t be a surprise who won the HOH. when Julie left the HGs Hayden had 5, Brit had 1 and Enzo had 2. WTH was with Brit breaking or dropping every freakin ball. Wow.
As for Ragan – am glad to see him go. As a gay man don’t see him as a role model for anything, really more of a stereotype with all the moping and crying.
As for Matt – coming clean on the wife thing probably a smart idea since I’m sure it would come out at the finale. I gained a new respect for Kathy. Her outrage over the lie was more than justified. When she asked if he had ever lost anyone that hit home.
My favorite part of the episode was the end when the camera zoomed out and showed all the balls Britney dropped. LOL
While Brit has thin fingers, they’re also small. She was having a hard time holding on to the ornaments, and by trying to hang onto them, she’d break them. Enzo has thick fingers and didn’t seem to have a lot of dexterity in them. Hayden had the right combo of long fingers and dexterous hands.

Matt didn’t say his wife died. He only said she was sick. But she wasn’t. So what? He lied. If the houseguests bought it, then they’re idiots. This is “Big Brother”, not “To Tell The Truth”. They knew what they were doing in that house. If they go in thinking they’re going to make friends and the others are only going to say true things, then they are naive. This is Season 12 already. Get off your high horse Kathy. Just because Matt was the reason you were evicted. Maybe if you had played the game and did something you might have had a chance.
They could have had this done by the end of the broadcast. Have the eviction earlier, then air all the Jury House footage while the HOH competition was going on, and then maybe the winner would have been decided before it went off the air.
This is the most boring season ever. Yes Matt was pretty creepy but at least he was trying to play the game….I am honestly sick of hearing about “playing with integrity” give me a break

This is a game that has people pop giant pimples in order to win something. It’s a big joke and therefore calls for zero integrity.
Kathy played the cancer card and tried to guilt the contestants (or at least Ragan)to keep her around by talking about her chemo and how she badly needs money to give her son an education. Sure, Matt lied, but at least he won competitions and didn’t solely resort to using emotional blackmail. Kathy told Ragan that she didn’t know what else to do for her son but to come on Big Brother. That’s outrageous. Maybe instead of banking on Big Brother, she could have actually worked this summer and taken on a second job. I didn’t see much integrity in Kathy’s game play and think she can step off her high horse now. Ok, rant over.

Matt’s lie was an attempt at emotional blackmail.
Kathy was entitled to play the cancer card because she had dealt with the disease. It’s very disrepectful of all terminally ill people for Matt to lie like he did. Going through cancer or any other illness is devastating for the patient and their family. I knew where Kathy was coming from.

Cancer is a devastating disease, but Kathy using it to guilt people into not voting her off is just tactless. I don’t agree with Matt’s game plan either, but at least he admits that he was using a sick ploy. Kathy acts all high and mighty when she is doing the same thing. I am just saying that Big Brother is not a charity event based on who needs the money the most. It’s a social game filled with competitions with the goal of making it to the end. So crying about how you don’t know what else to do to get money, but to win Big Brother is just ridiculous. Make friends/alliances, throw people under the bus if need be., and try to win some competitions.
Even though Kathy obviously didn’t win a substantial sum of money, each contestant gets paid for each television appearance. I have no idea how much they get paid now, but years ago the minimum pay was over $400. So $400 multiplied by 3 weekly appearances would be $1,200 a week, which I am sure is more than a deputy sheriff from Arkansas would earn working. If she could get the time off work to do “Big Brother”, I can hardly fault her for going for the chance to win half a million dollars for 3 months of her time.

I agree, I didn’t like this season at all. As for Enzo, he did nothing in BB. The guys carry him all way, but was first to say who should go. I think I even saw his hair leave every time someone was evicted. And Hayden, to say that Ragan is a role model for gay, how many gay people do you know?

I didn’t think Matt’s lie was that bad bc they’ve all lied everyday in that game. It was a dumb move bc in the end none of them would take him to final 2 bc of that lie. I’m more pissed about Kathy’s attitude bc she threw cancer in everyone’s face yet she smoked cigarettes like a chimney. Seeing Blechel again made me nauseous & I didn’t understand why Matt told them right away about the lie. Ragan clearly didn’t care about being “PC.” He joked about pedophilia, little people, aids, necrophilia, and the works all the time when he wasn’t bashing Brendon, Rachel, Annie, Andrew, or past BB cast mates. Let me tell you, he bashed people a lot. He became Monet 2.0 almost overnight and it stayed with him until his final night in the house were he got super drunk and talked about his experience, how he missed pot, and how he couldn’t wait to go get blackout drunk again. This is the example Ragan, a communication professor who left before getting tenure, has left.
Ragan seemed to think he was such a good person and a great player. He’s not and he wasn’t. He’s annoying and vicious and a poor judge of character. No one has said the other guys are saints, but they are idiots. Especially Enzo. Ugh.
There’s nothing “alleged” about his sticking African babies with AIDS needles comment. It’s on the feeds. Thousands of people saw him say it. And thousands more heard him make jokes about full blown AIDS on numerous other occasions. He’s a disgusting, hypocritical troll with a nasty sense of humor.
